Best Yoga Travel Mat
Brilliant travel mat. It's so small and lightweight I can wrap it up and it fits in the laptop case on my backpack, and it can fold into any carry-on size luggage. It's very well made and still strong enough to perform well as yoga mat - especially if you have a carpet or rug underneath. Direct on a hard floor - it doesn't provide a lot of support / cushioning but it's totally functional. You can also use a class mat underneath this one. The natural rubber took folding surprisingly well, and rolled out normally with no creases once at the hotel. If you travel a lot, hate to checkin large bags, this is a game changer.

Best out there for Lightweight Travel
I spent hours researching on the Internet for the best lightweight yoga mat. I'm writing this as there seems to be a lot of conflicting info and it took me a long time to choose this mat. Unfortunately, a lot of the research contains US based products not available (at a reasonable price, or at all) in the UK. In the UK, this and the Gaiam travel mat seemed both available and reasonably priced (£22-£33 including postage). Let me make this clear that this is a very robust and thin mat. Two qualities I want. Thin means it can be packed into a small space. I have mine folded in half lengthways and then rolled which gives a sausage shape about the size of a packed pair of sports shoes (i store it inside a shoe bag for reference), about 30 cm long by 15cm thick approximately. This can fit into hand luggage or a suitcase or a large handbag (as other reviews claim you can't, although I accept it would need to be a larger bag). It grips carpet very well and is surprisingly sticky. Although my yoga is very much at a beginner's level, I'd imagine it would perform well enough for all but the most demanding of users. I also have not used it for hot yoga so can't comment on it when its covered in sweat (although why wouldn't you use a yoga towel in that case anyway?). I do have a yoga towel and it sticks very nicely onto it. Its not going to be as supportive as thicker mats on the market but I cannot travel with a thicker mat so a mute point anyway. If you are not going to travel with it, buy a thicker mat rather than this as it will be more comfortable overall. Some may not be willing to pay the relatively high price for what is just under 1kg of rubber but I do believe that you get what you pay for. Size in my hand luggage is my premium and this allows me to travel with my yoga kit without too much of a compromise. Also, I like to think that I am buying the most eco friendly I can (in the UK) and I'll pay more for that. The success of light weight travel is to travel with less but higher quality kit. this fits the bill perfectly. I imagine this lasting a good amount of time from its quality so very pleased with this purchase.

Great mat while on the move (and to top studio mats)
Great yoga mat to take along when on the move - on a trip or to a studio. It's very, very thin, and it might hurt a little in certain poses if you do yoga on a very hard surface and you're skinny (like me). In the studio it's a great mat to use on top of the studio mat - I absolutely love the grip! No complaints about the smell others seem to have a problem with - I just rolled it out after the purchase and left it hanging on the room doors for a day or two before the first use. I also really love the colour - Thunder, - as you can't see the dirt so quickly, especially if doing the yoga outdoors. Highly recommended as travel mat and for use on top of studio mats if you prefer your own but don't want to carry around a more sturdy mat.

Lacks grip but very light and no smell
It might still need more time to wear in but it really lacks strong grip probably due to the 1.5mm thickness. For the main purpose of travelling it does its job and can easily go into backpack or trolley for overhead luggage in a flight. However for the price it really should have more grip without having to apply salt etc. Should be used on hardfloor since it might slip on carpet.

Brilliant!
I'm loving my new mat! As I have to travel a bit for work (and play!) and not having to lug my 4mm thick mat with me will be amazing. It folds to the size of a hooded sweatshirt and would easily fit inside a backpack (not a small handbag, obviously). It smelled a little out of the packet but I didn't notice it during my first practice. The surface was nice and grippy and stuck to the floor underneath. On the hard floor it provided next to no support but I used my yoga blanket to cushion knees/ elbows/ etc. When I'm travelling I could easily grab a jumper to do the same thing. I actually liked how thin it was for arm balances. I found it easier on the hard surface than on my regular 4mm mat - maybe because I'm not sinking in so much? I'll be using it in rotation with my 4mm mat from now on - as well as for travelling!

really sticky, doesn't flake and great for carrying around!
I am an intermediate every-day power yoga practitioner and for me this mat was really worthy the money. I was sick of buying cheap, poor quality PVC mats that flake after a few uses (not to mention that you find coloured PVC flakes all over your house forever) and had this one recommended to me by my teacher and one of my colleagues. I liked that it REALLY grips, I felt more stable than I normally do on a PVC mat. Though I should remark: it is a superlite, folding travel mat, which means it is thin. It provides an ideal surface for your practice, but it is not padded like a PVC mat. For me that's a plus, I really like to feel the floor when I'm practicing, but I understand some people may prefer to put their knees or sit on a fluffy surface (then you should NOT get this product, at all). The only thing keeping me from giving this product 5 stars is the smell, it is a bit strong, but after a while it will (hopefully) fade. Also, super fast delivery for London!

I got this mat to use for travelling, and it's awesome. Folds up well to stuff in my suitcase, and has just the right amount of grip for my practice. I've only used it on carpeted floors in hotels (where it was awesome) - and at home on top of my regular thick mat. It would definitely need some padding underneath if it was being used on a hard floor. I'd highly recommend it though.

Great mat that I can fold up like a towel and bring on trips. Due to recent back problems, had to get this mat for stretching on my vacation. It was a good thickness and tackiness of the mat was not an issue like some before me had mentioned (didn't find it more sticky that other mats I have at home). Most importantly, the length of this mat was perfect for me who is 5'5". Basically, it was like a normal yoga mat. Not shorter or narrower due to the fact that it can be folded and transported. There are only two things about this mat that would make it perfect (for me)-- I wish this mat came in was some type of pouch for storage when traveling; and, in my opinion, traveling yoga mat should be a little lighter but it appears the 2lb mark was standard for traveling yoga mats. Overall, I really like this mat and will be using it while traveling in the future.
