20 to Stitch: One-Patch Quilts (Twenty to Make)

This is a delightful little book. It has lots of ideas which start from the template which you might already have. Most other patchwork books start from a design for which you have to buy the template/s .if you don't already have it/them. This means that I can look at my templates and then see the possible designs which I could attempt. I feel that this is NOT a book for absolute beginners as the instructions are very simple. However, if you are a confident beginner, it's really inspiring and worth buying.

Was somewhat surprised about the size of this little book. but after looking at what was in it, it didn't really matter as I'd buy it again same size if I had too. lovely little thing it is. good details and designs, templates. I'd recommend to others.

I personally loved this book, but I already have a fair bit of sewing experience. It succinctly provides ideas for quilts based on a single shape and shows you how to piece them together. However, in places the instructions are brief, and assume prior knowledge (for example, doing a "Y seam" or "setting in" a shape. Like others, I had trouble with the apple core template, but did manage to get it to work eventually. All in all I loved the conciseness of the book which gives so many ideas BUT if you're a beginner you may need to spend some time experimenting and/or watching video tutorials on YouTube!

Excellent instructions

A must for any quilt maker, I have already made two different quilts shown in this book with excellent results. A must for any serious quilt make and indeed for those who want to make a quick quilt over a weekend. Looking forward to to dark nights to be able to sew more of these marvellous patterns.

Most of the templates in this book are far quicker to produce using a quilting ruler and common sense, even if you are beginner - which I am. You don't need a template for squares, rectangles, equilateral triangles, right angle triangles, half square triangles, 60 degree diamonds, 45 degree diamonds, offset squares (two of which are included, but one is called a half square) or trapeziums. Those templates constitute more than half of the book! Of those that you need a template for at least one is inaccurate (the apple core template). I have not tried the other curved template. I thought there would be more adventurous and innovative templates for one patches. Certainly not a book aimed at machine quilters, or those trying to quilt quickly or efficiently.

Very clear instructions and lovely to see what 1 pattern can create in a quilt. The book is the size of A4 page and easy to carry for a light read to decide next project.

I love this little book. There is a color photo for each pattern, along with detailed sewing constructions and illustration for ways to assemble.

ワンパッチ、変わったやつはないのかなぁ…と思い探して見つけた本です。 この本にはそういうものも含めて20種載ってます。 「Jewel」という名のダイヤモンドを図式化したような、ヘキサゴンにツノ1つ生やしたような形を見つけてうれしいっす。 うまく説明できないけれどこの形は6個つなげると正六角形7つつなげた「おばあちゃんの花園」と同じ面積になります とんがってない部分で3つつなげると正三角形に近い形となります 他に、とんがり屋根のような五角形「Houseor Prism」、 正方形を斜めに4分割した「Offset Square」これは配色によっては共有してつながって流れるイメージというか風車のようになります。 それぞれのページにパターン図があります 1つのパターンにつき2例、つなぎ方と配色例乗ってます 私は電子書籍で買いましたが、パターンのラインの数値や比率、角度までは書かれてません。 が、三角形と四角形の組み合わせとだと思うし、数値わからなくても工夫なり応用なりで作図はできるでしょう。 曲線のあるパターンは 日本ではスプールと呼ばれる「Apple Core」と「Kite」（凧）と「Clam Sheel」（あさり）のみです。 惜しむらくはこの本、電子書籍だと見開き2ページ分が1画面になってまして… でもまぁ元々の印刷本の大きさ（多分B5サイズより小さい）とページ数（50ページくらい）、そして洋書でもあることを考えると個人的にはふところにやさしい妥当価格だと思います。 おすすめです。
