This is the tool of choice during precision measuring such as hinge installation. It allows precise measurements which are needed during cabinet making. This T-ruler will work well for most precision work where measurements are critical. It's measurements are imperial, however they have other measuring devices that are metric. In cabinetmaking, it's especially useful. Plywood, melamine and hardwood are ultra expensive, and precision work can alleviate mistakes which equates to more productive work and less waste.This ruler is the 6 inch version however they have larger sizes as well. I use a 5mm mechanical pencil with this ruler. It fits into the small holes to mark the spot where you've made your measurement.I've used known 90 degree angle squares and the device is situated at the factor at a solid 90 degree angle.At $32.99, it's not a cheap tool, however for accuracy and precision, this is a quality tool at a reasonable price.This is a sold 5-star and highly recommended item.

Purchased this as a gift for my son. It has exceptional quality and should be part of your shop. I would definitely recommend this.

Nothing to write home about but if you are working with smaller pieces this is a nice straight edge that is true 90 degrees. If it said Starrett you would buy it without question at this price. Save your money, its true 90

Accurate to 1/64th or better at 1/4 the cost.. it works for me for what i do.

The accuracy between each 1/32" step is spot on, the distance of the 6" length from first mark to last mark is spot on. However, the ruler is not well aligned to the T which makes every mark almost (but not exactly) 1/32" off. I noticed this right away when I looked at the starting line on the red ruler and saw how the black T was proud of the line, which prompted me to check and confirm my suspicions.And, I don't know what is with the 1/32 inch to 0.79375 (inch to metric conversion), I guess they are trying to be helpful? But there is not a single metric graduation anywhere in this ruler.Bottom line is that the ruler is useless for making accurate marks which are relative to the edge of the work piece. I will try a replacement and see if is any better and will update accordingly.UPDATE: I received the replacement and the accurate is much better. Measuring to the edge is now absolutely precise. My original rating/review gave 1-star and noted it was inaccurate for edge work. Now updating to 4-star. Product is perfect but had to go through hassle of returning.
