very helpful for posture!
I've never tried a posture corrector before, so I researched a bit and decided to give this one a go. Now that I really want to correct my posture, trying to check myself all day long to remember to stand up and sit up straight just isn't working, and my posture has been so bad that my body doesn't even really know what good posture feels like. This product does a great job of moving me into standing and sitting straighter and is great as a reminder not to slouch. While wearing it, I can still slouch a bit, but the corrector makes doing so a bit uncomfortable on the shoulders. Consequently, I know immediately that I have to adjust and straighten my body up. I never realized how much better my back would feel when standing and sitting properly to take the muscle and spinal strain of slouching away. However, if you're slouching because your back muscles are weak, be prepared for your back to feel a bit tired after wearing it because you're essentially giving those muscles a workout as they get stronger and get used to holding you in the new position. The material of this corrector is soft and comfortable, but there are shoulder attachments included if you need extra cushioning there. It seems to be well made and looks like it will be durable but I haven't had mine for long enough to know how well it holds up long term. The velcro is really grippy which is great for making fit adjustments. The back design of this corrector seems to have been well thought out - there's enough surface area to be well bracing, and the criss cross part sits low and between the shoulder blades instead of up higher and onto the cervical spine. Thus in addition to holding the shoulders back, the corrector gives great support to the thoracic spine. With regard to sizing, I am 5'2" and 155 pounds and the barrel of my chest measures 34". According to the chart I need the small/medium, so that's what I got. The straps come around my chest and attach so that there is only a little bit of overlap, and the shoulder pieces don't come any further than my sides. Stretching any of that so any of the bands overlap to the extent shown in the product pictures just isn't going to happen. I don't need it any tighter, but if you want a bit more wiggle room to make this bigger or smaller, then going to the next size up might be better.

Going Straight
I ordered this posture corrector because I've noticed lately, as I've grown ever closer to what is considered middle-age, that I don't seem to stand up as straight as I used to. As a result, I've been experiencing a lot of neck aches and my back seems to hurt all the time even though I've not injured it. I also noticed that when I stretch and reach a position where I am actually standing with my back straight how it used to be, the pains immediately feel better - and so do I.I'm not sure when or why my posture became so "hunchy", like a teenager with low self-esteem, but I know I'm not happy about it and need to work on getting myself back to standing straight and tall. And the sooner the better!I found this posture corrector on Amazon after having purchased a different one a few months earlier that did not seem to be doing much at all for me. This one looked different and after reading the description and reviews I thought I'd give it a try. I'm really glad I did, too. I've been wearing it for about a month now and I think that's long enough to get a feel for it and also to tell that my posture is somewhat better already. My neighbor even noticed asking me if I'd grown a little taller or what. I do look taller and more confident - as we all do when we stand straight and walk tall. I'm very pleased with this posture corrector and only wish I'd found it before I wasted those months (and dollars) wearing the other one with no results at all. If you find, like me, you're also slipping back into that troubled teen posture and it's just due to some middle-aged laziness or too much texting - whatever the reason as long as it's not from an injury - and you're sick of looking at yourself this way - why not give this posture corrector a try and see if you, too, aren't walking a little taller in a short amount of time.

Just what I needed
Works pretty well. More comfortable than I'd anticipated.

Posture Corrector
I purchased the l/xl. I am 5'7" usually wear a 14/16 or 0x/1x. I've tried other 'correctors'. None fit properly, most too large. All were terribly uncomfortable under the arms. So I tried to find some different configurations - like this one. This one still goes under the arms, but also had an adjustment belt under the chest too. This strap does ease the pressure under the arms. However, I keep looking for a posture 'corrector' that won't allow me to slouch. However, this doesn't doesn't do that - you can still easily slouch. So, the search continues. I gave it three stars because it's the first 'corrector' I've tried that didn't kill my under arms. I will keep trying to find something that is actually a posture corrector. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. I also refuse to 'change' my review for a refund of a product I have given a poor review - and that is offered from time to time. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,200 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 26,000 likes. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for all my stuff, just like you do.
