If I buy 2 locks, will they be keyed alike?

These locks are so bad that it doesn't seem to matter what key you use, so long as it fits into the keyway.

how many keys is a large number?

This lock has 5 keys, it sized up after 3 weeks but after soaking in release oil overnight it seems to be OK if a little stiff, usually if goods are good wich zi buy from Amazon I say they are in this case I would not recommend this lock.

Does the shackle retract past 32mm, it states 40mm but there are no pictures showing it fully open.

Definitely 40mm. I'll send you a picture I just took. I can send it on Whatsapp or messenger if you want. I've got a tape measure showing the gap. The shackle retracts fully. Well worth the money.
