Yacon Syrup comes from Yacon; a South American plant that is a relation to the Sunflower family. The syrup is the processed juice from the bulbous Yacon roots. In South America fresh Yacon is a favourite for putting in fruit salad and eating raw with lemon and honey. Legend says that Inca messengers used the root to quench their thirst on long journeys.

How Do I Take It?
Use this delicious syrup in cooking and food preparation as you would any other syrup. Great for baking, sweetening beverages and green smoothies. Suggested Use: As required

Quality and Manufacture
After the roots have reached peak maturity they are harvested and brought in for processing. After selection the roots are washed and peeled before being scalded. They are then put into a special juice extractor to harvest all the internal Yacon juice. This juice is then filtered and put into a vacuum concentration unit to evaporate out most of the water. After this process the Yacon Syrup is filtered again and tested before being made ready for shipping.
