We are train lovers! This is such a perfect addition to our growing train collection. The colors are awesome, the train is actually really strong and runs at a decent speed. The train and cars fit perfectly on my wooden train tracks and with my other train cars. I really like this set and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves trains and is looking to buy another set.

The battery is impossible to put in due to an excessively small screw and very strong springs that pop it out every time you attempt to tighten it. Bummer because the train itself is very cute. Unfortunately, without the battery, it's useless so I am sending it back. They need a better design for securing the battering. Fingers ache from multiple unsuccessful attempts. I was determined but in the end, lost the batter. My 2.5 year old grandson didn't understand why he didn't get his train in the end. Looking for another one.

Grandbaby loves it. Has a light, makes noises, goes fast ... maybe too fast. Baby was leaning on it heavily so its sturdy. He didn't do it too long but it survived that. It mostly works on Brio and similar track, will not fit in tunnels, some bridges, can't get around the sharp corners. It kind of falls over easily. He's had it two months, it has slowed down a bit, holding up well overall.

The media could not be loaded. This battery powered train engine and car set is great. It works better than I expected based on some of the other reviews. It has been going strong during play for over a week. We have a second hand set with only three wooden cars, but this engine pulls them just fine up and over the draw bridge. Rubber gaskets on the drive wheels provide good traction. The wheels on the cars were a bit squeaky at first, a light application of wd40 made them completely silent, but avoid coating the drive wheels on the engine or it may not get enough traction for hills. I left one star off because the box car had the magnets installed in the same orientation on both sides, in the same polarity as the engine. Meaning that the car would not connect to the engine in either orientation. I was able to disassemble one side and reverse the magnet, so it works fine now. I should not have to take apart a brand new toy and fix something that should have been installed correctly at the factory with a very easy quality check before it makes it out the door. That said, the look and performance of this train is excellent and I would buy it again over the other options I found online.

Initially, this train worked great. The rubber tires had great traction on a wooden track, and the motor was strong enough to quickly pull quite a long string of train cars. Unfortunately, after only around two weeks, it's completely junk.The first thing to give out was the grippy rubber drive wheels, which completely worn down to the plastic causing it to barely move. It was able to operate like this without pulling additional train cars, which was less fun, but at least it worked. Rubber o-rings might have been a good replacement tire, but eventually a plastic tooth broke in the transmission causing it to no longer move the rear wheels at all despite hearing the motor spinning.It's disappointing that the train wore out so quickly, as when it worked, it was very powerful and stayed on the tracks pretty well. It liked to eat through batteries quite quickly though, and the battery cover is especially difficult to replace compared to a few other toy trains I have used. If you take great care of your trains, it may last longer, but for a toddler who wants to watch it go in circles for literal hours, you may find the lifespan quite short.
