Heavy, thick, and effective
Fitted mine under the car's normal floor mats, and even just doing that made a difference in the perceived noise levels inside the cabin. It's also very easy to cut with just sharp scissors. It's not cheap of course, but if you fit it more professionally than I did (i.e. under the carpets themselves), I'm sure it would cut out even more noise inside the cabin.
