Fresh, Deep Clean for Your Washing Machine — Works Well Overall! I’ve been using this Dr. Beckmann washing machine cleaner to keep my drum fresh and free of build-up, and it’s definitely helped improve the smell and cleanliness of my machine. It’s really easy to use — just pop the powder in and run a hot empty wash — and afterwards the drum smells fresher and doesn’t have that musty odour that can build up over time. This product seems to do a good job of eliminating lingering smells and helping flush away residues that regular washes don’t always remove — which means my clothes smell cleaner too. A few people also use it when buying a second-hand machine or before storing one, and have noticed noticeably fresher results. I gave it four stars because it does recommend using a pretty hot cycle for best results, which isn’t ideal if you’re trying to save on energy — but that’s typical for deep cleaning products. Overall, solid value for the price, and I’ll keep using it every couple of months to maintain a fresh washing machine!

I think it is common knowledge just how hard it is to get rid of black mould, and many people have this issue from bathrooms, to garages, cars etc, but I wasn't expecting to find it in my washing machine. I had pulled back the seal just by accident and I was completely SHOCKED by how much there was growing in there. I immediately went online looking for washing machine cleaners, and found this one. I know Dr.Beckmann make a tremendous carpet stain cleaner, so I thought why not try this..... I have to say, I am mightily impressed. My washing machine looks literally BRAND NEW inside the drum. Could not believe it. That was just after pouring one box in and putting it on a 60 degrees celcius wash. It smells cleaner, and one thing I have noticed is that my washing, when I air dry it, now smells a lot cleaner too. This was great value for money to the point I bought 5 of them. Instructions are clear and it is easy to use. It comes in a good quality, little carboard box, no plastic packaging, so you can recycle it no problem. I am very impressed and would highly recommend this to anybody wanting to clean their washing machine with ease.

On the positive side, it does a good job of eliminating bad odours. After the wash cycle, the drum smelled noticeably fresher, and it definitely feels more hygienic. The claim of removing bacteria and fungi seems reasonable based on the freshness it leaves behind, and it works well as a regular deep-clean product. However, when it comes to stain and residue removal, the results are not perfect. Some visible stains and buildup inside the drum and rubber seal were reduced, but a few stubborn stains still remained, even after following the instructions carefully. I expected a slightly stronger cleaning action for tougher residue. Overall, it’s a good cleaner for odour control and general hygiene, but if your machine has heavy or long-standing stains, you may need a stronger product or a second treatment.

To be honest, cleaning my washing machine has never been high on my list of priorities... Infact, it never crossed my mind... However, when the general area around my machine started to smell a bit 'pungent', that's when I took notice... A quick google search revealed a whole raft of different ways of cleaning your washing machine, from home made solutions to stupidly expensive industrial cleaners... I couldn't be arsed to mix up white vinegar and baking soda and I wasn't going to spend a fortune on the 'Rolls Royce' of cleaners, so I opted for Dr. Beckmann... I already used the very impressive Dr. Beckmann Magic Leaves for my laundry (small loads) and I trust the brand, so I thought I would give this inexpensive solution a try... I was pleased I did because the result was great... Spotless machine and no more smells and all for less than two quid... I've seen a few bad reviews but can only imagine they have other issues like drainage problems or poor detergent choices, because this worked perfectly well for me... Bear in mind that this is the first time I've put a cleaner through my machine in over 3 years... It's recommended to run a cleaner through your machine every one to three months... That seems a bit like 'overkill' to me, but I'll personally schedule in a clean every six months... or sooner if it starts to smell... I have no hestitation in recommending this product and giving it the full 5 stars...

I bought these as I have smelly washer problem. I ma not sure they mad much difference, The smell is not that pleasant. It has a chemical smell that you don't want on your clothes although I didn't smell it on mine after. For the money I think you could use something cheaper and it would work just as well.

It was absolutely disgusting, and the smell would spread throughout the house. I tried every solution I could think of, including bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, hot cycles, and even other chemical cleaners, but nothing worked. I cleaned every part of the machine, replaced the pipes, scrubbed the detergent drawer, cleaned the drip tray, and ran hot washes, but the smell just wouldn't go away. I was at my wit's end, especially with guests coming to stay, and I couldn’t bear the thought of them waking up to that awful odour. So, I scoured Amazon one last time and came across this Dr. Beckmann Service-it Deep Clean Washing Machine Cleaner. Its bold claims of removing 99.99% of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, as well as eliminating bad odours, seemed too good to be true, so I had to try it! All I can say is wow! Using it couldn’t be easier. Just empty the whole 250g box into the drum, no measuring required, and set your machine to run at a minimum of 60°C for at least an hour. I opted for a 90°C wash, which lasts for 2 hours on my machine, for extra thoroughness. After just one wash, the disgusting smell that had plagued my home for years was completely gone, and three weeks later, it still hasn’t returned. I’m absolutely amazed at how effective this product is. It left no mess, no residue, and it feels like I have a brand-new washing machine. For the price, it’s unbeatable. I paid £2.90 for the 250g pack, which is enough for one full clean, and I’ve seen the price drop lower. Given how effective it is, that’s an absolute bargain! I’ve already ordered a few more packs to use regularly, as it’s recommended to use every 1-2 months to keep your machine in top shape. The cleaner is supposed to leave a lemon fresh scent, though I didn’t really notice that. But honestly, the fact that my machine no longer smells at all is a win for me. Now all I can smell is my laundry detergent, and that’s good enough! I’ve tried a lot of other products, including well-known brands like Dettol, but none of them were able to tackle the odour like this. It also worked wonders on the limescale build-up in my 20-year-old machine, leaving the drum and seals sparkling clean. This cleaner is suitable for both front-loading and top-loading machines, and it’s great for prolonging the life of your appliance by preventing limescale and dirt build-up. If you’ve been dealing with an awful odour in your washing machine like I was, I can’t recommend this product enough. I wish I had found it sooner. It would have saved me so much frustration. I’ll definitely be using it regularly from now on, and I’m excited to try more from the Dr. Beckmann range. If you’re looking for a product that truly works and is great value for money, this is it! Good size and price and handy to have in as our washing machine gets a lot of use! Easy to use just sprinkle the box into the drum of the machine and set to a hot wash without a pre wash. Works well and I use probably every 3 weeks or so. Downside is zi always expect it to smell good after but mine usually has a bit of a whiff.
