Chamberlain ML700EVGB Comfort Garage Door Opener, White, 700N toothed belt drive - Up-and-over or sectional door incl. 2 remote controls

Initial fitting of this kit was very fast and i felt i was making very good progress. Then i got to the part of attaching the frame runner to the door its self. I was installing this on a 15 year old 3 metre garage door and the middle section was a raised brace and the holes for the bracket supplied with the kit would not line up with the brace correctly. This wasn't too much of an issue as i made something out of some aluminium bar and some rivets and attached it on to the door. Next the fun really began when i attempted to set the lifter up. Firstly on opening the frame was bending which i fixed with some additional timber bracing on the frame. After that when the door closed it would stay open on one side about 4 inches where as the other side was closed perfectly. When it got to this point of travel the upper door frame timber would twist and creak and sounded like it was about to snap. I spent several hours bracing this to beef it up abit which made no difference. When you run into this type of issue the manual is next to useless and just tells you to seek professional help. I messed about with the door abit more and figured out that the right hand guide that eases the door backwards wasn't doing its job and the door was passing over the side of it rather than against it. I drilled the rivets out and moved the guide further outwards. With very little expectation i tried again and to my amazement it work perfectly! It would be nice if they pointed out some basic things to look out for on the door if you have issues The garage door opener is a good piece of kit but dont assume that it will fit and you will have no issues. Programming was abit of a pain to start with but it worked properly in the end. The manual control button looks abit cheap and nasty, i didnt bother with it.

Excellent delivery from Germany, 4 working days. Product extremely well designed for shipping, easy installation, works well, very quiet . So overall as an engineer I was impressed at the price point and can recommend. Installation instructions pretty good but I think could be simplified, on line video with Amazon very good and with just a few more minutes to fill editing gaps would be rated excellent. So why 4 starts not 5 ? In fact 4.7 would be fairer . The fixing straps and wall/door brackets have been engineered back too far for low cost in my view. They will work but are too flimsy for what is positioned as a premium product. I overcame my reluctance to use them by reusing hardware from my old electric door I was replacing, and got a very robust installation. Am I being picky, maybe yes, but such a smart design should not be spoilt by saving a little material gauge width and overall strength of the finished installation.

Fitted to our retractable Hormann single garage. Installation took two of us about 3.5 hours in all (including additional electrics work to run a new spur and power socket up to beams where the unit is fitted). Instructions are fantastic and there is both text description and diagram for all steps. You can, however, go off the diagrams almost exclusively - they are so helpfully set out. The unit itself is just great. Very sturdy and well-made. Everything worked straight away with no hassle. Smooth and speedy operation. Superbly easy to program - a few button presses to set the top and bottom positions and a simple two press to pair any wireless devices like the remotes. I am by no means an expert at DIY but found this very straightforward. There are some video walk throughs on YouTube but they all seem to be in German. Still worth a watch if you want to see the process - the language really doesn't matter much.

Superb item, was really easy to assemble and install- once id made a few brackets to mount to my particular garage roof type. Faultless operation so far. Key programming was super simple and its operation is near silent, would recommend. Installed in approx 3hrs on my own, although if i hadnt had to make some modifications to my garage roof i reckon this could have been installed in about 1.5 hrs. Instruction manual poor- writing on one document and some limited pictures on another, i found watching a youtube video much more informative.

illumination the light that came with my opener ML700eVGB is useless especially at night trying to reverse into a dark garage ,okay ,car reversing lights are on .but a lighted candle would be more use . the opener works well ,quiet, setup was easy ,no problems but but that light is not good . I had fitted two Led strips to the original opener which gave a good illumination

Very good door opener but definitely go on YouTube for your instructions as the ones included are terrible. It’s very quiet and is good value but the installation was a pain to get right

Used this to replace a previous unit. Instructions easy to follow if you read the written instructions with the separate pictorial guide. All the references were clear and accurate. Looks well made and if it lasts like the previous two (total 36 years) I'll be very happy. Toothed belt drive is much quieter than the previous chain drive. I ordered it one day, received it the next and installed it the same day.

El motor es relativamente fácil de instalar, especialmente si has instalado uno antes porque todos son similares. La información que trae está solo en inglés y además no es nada intuitiva (en otras palabras, es muy mejorable). Lo mejor: es super silencioso y el mando funciona desde mucha más distancia que el anterior que tenía Lo peor: el motor no tiene un tope mecánico de seguridad y parece que no tiene mucha fuerza (aunque suficiente)

Muy fácil de calibrar y silencioso a la hora de operar al no llevar cadena. La puerta es abatible y abre y cierra sin problemas ajustando a la perfección. Los mandos tienen un gran alcance y el acabado en general es bastante bueno.

Con todo lo necesario,solo faltan las instrucciones en castellano
