RGBCW Downlight: Tuya lights, Bluetooth, One is a hub, Blutooth + Wifi, Bad integration
This is for the home automation hackers. I just got these today and haven't even powered them on yet so take this info for what it worth. These are Tuya lights (works with the Tuya Smart or SmartLife apps. Whichever you preference.) One light is the hub that contains a CR3L chip (blutooth + wifi) and the rest of them have a BT3L-A chip (blutooth only)Interestingly they have a separate red, green, blue led instead of one combination rgb led we usually see in rgb lights. The guts were easy to get to and the chips are the right footprint for an ESP swap out for the more daring. Just use a very small flat blade on edge of the diffuser piece and you can pop it up. I'll try to come back and update my review once I get them set up and into Home Assistant later this week. Happy Automating!UPDATE: I really don't like these lights now that I have played with them. As mentioned before the one light is the hub. I was hoping to power up that light all the time and use automations to operate the others. This turned out to be a nightmare. If you turn the light off (it is still powered up with 120, just pushing the off button in the app) then the other blutooth lights lose connectivity. So it's all or nothing. Also Tuya has switch to a subscription based model and after the month trial you can't use the tuya cloud integration without paying an insane amount. I've tried the tuya local integration. It's ok with devices that don't do as much. RGBCW lights, however are a bit more complex. I got most of it working except the light temp and dimming working at the same time.I went a head and tried a chip swap and I don't have a good explanation for why it didn't work. I have 3.3v before, then I hook up the esp8266 and it won't power up. ( Now that I'm writing this I didn't think about power draw. Maybe the ESP chip pulls more than the BT3L-A. Something to look into another day when I don't feel like throwing them in a trash compactor.)So inconclusion. I would not go with these light if you are wanting to do anything complex with them. If your putting them all together and and don't mind using there app with some delay, then I'm sure they'll be fine.

Great replacement can lights!! And they work perfectly with Alexa!
UPDATE: While I have got the lights working, when I turn off the 12 lights I installed in my downstairs kitchen and hallway using Alexa, inevitably one or two of them will randomly turn on later. This happens overnight, or while we're away during the day. It's become a game to guess which lights will be on later. And one of them stopped working entirely. I had been emailing with Amico's customer service, and they offered to send me a new set of 12 so I could send them mine which they intend to study to figure out why they're doing this. But when I responded with my address, their mailbox is now full. I'm returning these lights and getting others rated higher.I bought these to replace the LED floodlights that kept dying after only a few months, instead of the years that the boxes claimed. I'll start out my review of them by saying that they are really good lights. I mean, they have a lot of LEDs in each unit, the different colors are all very pleasing (which isn't guaranteed from every LED light), both the white temperatures and also the RGB combinations. The lights turn on quickly, and can even have the on/off fade adjusted. You could literally install these and only use them with light switches and they would be just great. But they are smart lights, so they can be controlled by any generic smart device app, and also by Alexa. Originally I wrote this review with a whole explanation as to why I was disappointed that they didn’t properly work with Alexa, and how I worked around that. But after getting support from the seller I’ve got all my lights properly integrated with the Alexa app and working perfectly. For those who has searched for how to do this and found this review, here’s some help. If you’re using the Joinin app that is mentioned in the instruction manual, then from the home page look beside the + icon in the top right corner and you should hopefully see a square icon. If you tap that, then you can add existing devices to be controlled by one of the lights with a “built-in hub.” Once they’re added, then they’ll work in the Alexa app. If you’re using the Smart Life app like I do, tap on the Smart tab in the bottom tab bar, then on Dynamic Gateway, and finally add existing devices like I explained above. I imagine any other app will work the same or similar.I’ve now updated this review, which was originally a four star, to a five star review. I can’t wait to get my next box of six lights tomorrow so I can put them in my upstairs hallway!
