This is a super sleep design drive, looks awesome. Also it does says 120mbps on box and I got slightly more than that speed. Reliable as it’s LaCie and usb C so proper compatible with everything now. Overall very happy with this.

Good value and high-quality mobile hard drive that packs a punch. Handles big FCPX files on my Mac Air with ease.

Works fast

Works beautifully on MacOS 15.5 but reformatted anyway to a different file system. This drive actually seems to contain an HDD rather than SDD, its presentation and text doesn’t really make that clear but still a good unit. Design is beautiful, function, speed and heat are all acceptable and price is good for a nicely designed drive. Why did you choose this product over others?: LaCie brand and design

Excellent little device. My 1TB Macbook was full with photos. Easily backed up the whole lot to this. Apparently LaCie do a lot with Apple so I reckon it's suitable. Cheaper than buying a new 2TB Macbook.

I've been experiencing performance issues for some time with my iMac 2019 5k. Slow performance... extremely slow reboots... lots of spinning beachballs... that kind of thing. After a couple of support calls with Apple, and lots of checks, they advised me to purchase this drive, and set it up as my new Startup disk. Following some simple instructions in their support doc, it was set up in no time, and once I'd migrated the data overnight (there was a lot!), my iMac's performance has vastly improved. This LaCie SSD drive is the one that Apple recommend using with my model of iMac. I believe you can use it with other models, but you must do your own checks first, and possibly even open a support call with Apple. All in all, if you're having performance issues with your Mac with the more traditional Fusion/HDD drive, and you've thought about buying a new Mac... stop and have a think first!! This was an effective fix for me, that will hopefully buy me some more years with my trusty iMac!

I bought this drive to transfer data from an old Mac that had stopped working. It took the data transfer then we brought it back from the repair shop and it promptly failed, making a grinding noise, as soon as I tried to download the data. Lacie (Seagate) offered to transfer the data to a new hard drive but at that stage I know I’ve had data loss so I’ve had to go back to the repair shop and pay another 150 quid to get the data transferred again on a different drive. After this experience I won’t buy another hard drive like this. I’ve had my money returned from Amazon (who let us keep the drive so we can destroy it for data security). I’ve bought a solid state replacement and I wish I had bought this in the first instance.

I bought this after reading recommendations about using an external SSD drive as your aging iMac's primary boot device. We have a 2017 iMac that was just taking forever to open up documents, boot, do anything pretty much. Beachball's galore, everything was taking ages. And with each successive OSX upgrade (now running Ventura) it just got slower and slower. The fault, I learned, was the aging hard drive they put in there....a very, very slow device. So I bought this, followed the instructions to format it as a Mac Ventura OSX boot partition, did the whole migration off of the native hard drive and...wow....our iMac is -SCREAMING FAST- now. Apple may have let me down with the "it just works" promise, but this little investment will easily get us another couple of years out of the family iMac! Well worth the investment!

Je travaille dans la musique et j’utilise Logic : une grande partie de ma vie artistique et professionnelle dépend de ma capacité et de la sécurité à stocker mon matériel avec un très haut niveau d’efficacité. Invariablement, j’utilise LaCie. La connexion avec le MacBook a été immédiate et parfaite. La vitesse est très bonne (et j’utilise un long câble). Très haut niveau de satisfaction. Une remarque : j’ai aussi le modèle avec la protection orange et je dois dire que celui-ci me donne une plus grande sensation de sécurité, d’« incassabilité ». Cela dit, je ne suis pas exposée à des risques habituellement (pas d’enfants, pas de boissons sur la table de travail et les transports lors des voyages ne sont pas très fréquents). J’ai acheté le modèle en question parce qu’il y avait une différence de prix notable dans l’offre, et aussi pour éviter toute confusion avec l’ancien. Sur ce point, je devrai faire l’expérience pour voir si j’ai pris la bonne décision. Mais toujours chez LaCie, sans aucun doute.
