The film is mostly pretty good. The action sequences are as jaw-dropping as ...
Following up 2012's smash-hit "Avengers Assemble" was always going to be a tall order. That film was the straight-forward culmination of 5 films establishing characters and laying the groundwork for Marvel's cinematic universe. Age of Ultron has to bring the different characters together again while propelling the story off in a new direction for future movies while also telling an interesting story in the process. With so much to juggle, it is not surprising that the film is not quite the equal to its predescessor. The film opens well with the recover of Loki's sceptre leading to a confrontation with 2 new individuals with super-powers and the creation of the titular baddy, Ultron. The film's first act builds to an impressive climax when Hulk goes on a rampage and Tony Stark is forced to don a giant suit of "Hulkbuster" armour in order to try and control his enraged friend. The second act suffers something of a hiatus as the group go into hiding and attempt to work out how to deal with the monster they have inadvertently created. Possibly the weakest section here is Thor who goes on some sort of poorly explained vision-quest during which he realises that someone is working to bring together the all-powerful "Infinity Stones" (picking up the Thanos storyline that drove Guardians of the Galaxy). After that the group get back together in time to stop Ultron commiting armageddon by dropping a city from the stratosphere before going their separate ways again, leaving Captain America in charge of a new team of Avengers. The film is mostly pretty good. The action sequences are as jaw-dropping as one would expect while the witty quips and one-liners flow smooth ease. It is really the slow middle act that lets this film down. While the 1st Avengers film had a similar lull in the middle, it worked because it felt natural and built a sense of suspense about what Loki was up to. Here there is little suspense because Ultron tells us fairly early on what he wants to do. He doesn't want to conquer the world, just flatten it. Thor's revelation feels forced as it comes completely out of the blue despite the fact that the group actually has one of the Infinity Stones in their possession for part of the story which could have provided the same impetus without feeling bolted-on. Fortunately the climactic final battle is a satisfying spectacle and ends with the heroes once again splitting up to pursue their own objectives. This is still a good film and one I would not hesitate to rewatch. It is just not quite as good as the first one.

Surprisingly Awesome!!!
I think this action-packed superhero hit has to be one of the best and most unmissable explosive motion pictures I've seen to date. The thrills, the images, the locations, the jokes, the cast and characters...altogether bring a very lovely explosive inspirational adventure with regards of revealing minimal detail about a few of the avengers and introducing new recruits for a much bigger exciting new journey. I couldn't even miss the action with music about the heroes uniting with each other against an enemy of no humanity. I explored the bonus features and it really got me entertained by the film directors making this movie and the cast interacting with one another. I would recommend this to anyone who loves superheroes and want to see it progress with time and unity from the avengers. To see what more about them can explored during and after this film.

Superhero movies don't come any better
Joss Whedon bows out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an astonishing film. Age of Ultron's faults come from trying to cram in too much great material. The Blu-Ray only gives us a meagre portion of what had to be edited out. The film as released remains a flawed masterpiece. Emphasis on the masterpiece. Superhero movies don't come any better than Avengers 1 & 2. The Winter Soldier comes close, which means the series is probably in good hands. Time will tell!

Great Stuff!
Terrific action film with great one liners scattered throughout. I thought this sequel, like so many before it, would be cheesy and tired. Not so. It is up there with its predecessors in every way. The regular characters are all there, too. The couple of extra baddies are thrown into the mix without impeding the flow and it turns out to be really good, breathtaking action film. Highly recommending viewing.

Great service! Great film!
So surprised they delivered on a Sunday! Great service. Already saw the film at the cinema so not much to say about it in that sense. But the Blu Ray is great! Not many special features but enough. One thing, it's not full screen like Assemble was. Just a point. It doesn't take anything away though. Also, no Loki special feature. That would have been brilliant.

Cannot fault! Amazing!
What a great film, thoroughly enjoyed seeing it in the cinema and just had to buy it on blu ray. The quality of the movie is amazing and I would recommend buying the blu Ray edition to anyone who has a suitable player! For the extra £5 you may as well! Can't fault Amazon here either ordered 5pm and it arrived the next morning.
