Sturdy all metal, fairly easy to put together. A little time consumming getting the wire prongs level and tightened. Works Great! Good value for the $.

This thing works better than expected, especially for the price. Used this for 1acre full lawn renovation and it made a huge difference. Easy to use (once assembled) and held up nicely. Will see how it holds up in the long run. It does however require some patience, time, and handiness to get it all assembled properly. Other than that, get ready for some cleanup after putting it to use!

UPDATE. . . .Put this thing to work today and it works great. It still gets 4 stars for the assembly. Was able to thatch 2 acre yards with an ATV in about an hour. . . . . This thing is a nightmare to assemble. For only about 10 pieces (tines excluded), this thing is poorly designed. I am an intermediate handy guy (weekend warrior) with every tool on the face of the planet and this took me 2 hours + to assemble. Pay real close attention to the diagram when installing the tines. I put them in all backward. You will be able to tell if when you have installed the back row and you are covering up an assembly hole (for a different piece). Height adjustment is a pain in the butt as well. Need to make sure your somewhat level on the top adjustment and then on the sides. Difficult for one person. Suggest using a block of wood to prop the unit up before tightening. After the assembly nightmare, I did hook it up to my ATV and took one swipe in the yard and it does appear to work well. To be fair to the seller, I will update this review if this thing works like diamonds on my yard, but that will be in the fall. . . .

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great performance, just needs patience to set up I’m really pleased with this dethatcher—it works efficiently across my large yard, pulling out a ton of thatch and leaving neat rows. Once I ran it through, my lawn immediately looked healthier and more aerated. A few things to note: Assembly took some time—it’s not overly complicated, but you’ll want to set aside a couple of hours. Luckily, there’s a helpful YouTube video from Brinly that walks through each step, making the process much smoother. After it was put together, it hitched up easily to my lawn tractor, and the 48‑inch width made quick work of the job. The spring-steel tines flex perfectly, and the inline wheels helped it track evenly. If you’re okay with a bit of assembly time and follow the video for guidance, this dethatcher is a solid pick—durable, efficient, and a great value.
