Best thing going
Best way to listen to your favorite music while skiing & if you want you can keep up with your phone calls while riding the lift or skiing/riding down the mountain! Great battery life, I went 3 days playing on the mountain without a recharge… didn’t want to chance a 4th day without. Connect’s easily by blue tooth, easy to operate with gloves on and fits in my helmet perfectly. 2nd pair…. First pair lasted 8-9 years.

NO BASS ! NO LOW END what so ever @ $225
These are TERRIBLE, PERIOD! These may have the electronics that are capable of their stated 20 -20khz BUT the speakers ARE NOT CAPABLE OF PRODUCING ANY LOW END FREQUENCIES AT ALL! If these speakers go down to 1khz I'd be suprised. These cost over 4 times their competitors product yet their competitors have the SUPERIOR sound quality. Hands down I have two (and tested the two) of their competitors products. I was going to return the other competitors speakers because I found it hard to use the button functions on their speakers BUT NOW IM KEEPING THE COMPETITORS SPEAKERS simply because like I stated above, have superior sound quality AND volume. When I bought these I was expecting Bose or Sony quality but sadly to say I got Kmart specials, (a sarcastic) O boy! Needless to say these are going back because they simply dont OUTPUT 20-20KHz sound Terribl terrible terrible.

The Outdoor Tech Chips Ultra 2.0 are incredible!
I've owned two wired-together sets where one stopped working, and went on a quest for completely wireless. 1. The audio is crisp and clear; loud enough to hear well over even icy conditions while snowboarding. Some subtle bass too. 2. Pairing is instant and automatic to my phone. 3. The button control system is perfect and easy to use through the ear pads with heavy gloves in my Smith helmet. 4. Battery life is exceptional! After a full charge, 5 days on the mountain, chips were still rocking 30% battery life. 5. Chips are sleek and easily fit my earpads. The charging case and chips themselves look rad. Yes, I busted out, rad. 6. Phone calls are seamless and my voice is clear when tested. 7. Last, but definitely not least, as the battery life gets low, the voice prompt letting you know the battery is low is not obnoxious. Maybe every 15 minutes. Most devices annoy you every 30 seconds it seems. These are a must and well worth every penny!

Save your money!
I'm a huge fan of CHIPS and still own and use the first generation ones, which still go strong. I decided that I want to upgrade to the newest latest and greatest version and regretted it almost immediately - ended up returning them after few very frustrating days of using them. First, the good - sound quality when playing music is superb and battery life is excellent. Connection is stable too. That's about it for positives. The headset is supposed to be a "true wireless", meaning each chip is independent. However, it all looks good on paper and to charge them, you need to dig each one of them from the helmet and put them in the box in the right places. Then, once they are charged, you do it in reverse. Light indicator on the box is very confusing and misleading. Once you close the box, you have absolutely no idea how your chips are doing as far as charging status. You also have no way of knowing how charged up the case is. When you plug in the case (with chips inside), the light indicator won't light up until the chips themselves are charge and only then it'll go red and, eventually green. Essentially, you have no idea if your charger is good, if the case is dead or if anything is happening until after the chips themselves are charged. This was confirmed by support too when I inquired. The mic quality is absolutely horrendous - you can hear the caller ok, but they can barely hear you on the other end. To add insult to the misery, when getting a call, you can only hear in one ear - right to be specific. This is by design, as confirmed by support. Controls are also not precise and inconsistent - instead of feeling a satisfying "click" as in other models, you "might" feel something, but you're expected to base your success on "beeps". Problem is, you often have to literally slam on the ear to make that thing actually beep. And when double-tapping, it still only beeps once. Essentially, you have no idea if you're turning the volume up or down until you hear the change and you have no idea if you are skipping a song or pausing it as double tapping is a very imprecise thing with this headset and you only hear one beep. Additionally, even if you do manage to double-tap and skip a song, it takes few seconds for the next one to start playing - wasn't an issue in the other models. Turning them on and off is also a fun thing - you have to start with the right and then left and only after that they'll sync up. If you turn off right, left would not turn off, but would not play either. Sound indication that they are on are so low that you're more likely put them in pairing mode rather than turn them on because you might not hear "power on" notification. On top of everything else, they decided to reverse the controls. If in other models double tapping on the left ear makes your sound go up, in these ones, that's how it goes down. WHY??? In summary, go with Chips 3 instead - you'll get the same sound quality, but better mic, much more precise controls and easier charging. All for quite a bit less money.

Phone sound from only right side?
Hello! Just cracking these open… sound for music seems good with some EQ adjustments… but the phone sound is only the right ear? Sort of annoying… maybe I am doing something wrong?

Love the sound but not the hassle
These sound AMAZING. Beautiful. However convenience is going to be put at a 2/10. I’d love to be able to charge them without removing them. I’d love it if there was a sticky pad included because are we supposed to just tuck them in the helmet somewhere and hope they don’t fall Out? I wish there was a third piece that can go on the outside of the helmet for skipping songs. As great as they sound, the whole reason im getting these guys are FOR convenience to replace traditional ear buds. So ill have to return them even tho id prefer to keep them :/

Great headphones!
I love these headphones! I can play music, but still hear everything around me. Being able to answer my phone is a bonus! The charging wire was missing from my set and I immediately contacted their customer service. They were very responsive, quickly sent me a charging wire and followed up to make sure I was happy. Very positive experience dealing with this company. I couldn’t be happier!

I was pleasantly surprised, they are much clearer than the bikes speakers and I was impressed with the bass, not tinny at all. They paired well with my iPhone and they fir comfortably in my 1/2 helmet pouches. They ar3 expensive but I think you’ll find them effective.

I have had chips going back to the 1st iteration. My other half has nicked my 3.0's so I thought I would "upgrade" to these. NOT an upgrade from 3.0. also, connection is terrible. Literally unusable, same Bluetooth connection to my phone as the 3.0's and they are super stable and brilliant. These crackle and disconnect (from each other) every 3 seconds or so. You have to turn each on and off individually, they're a little more bulky and the buttons aren't as "clicky" as the 3.0's which is annoying with gloves on. Yes there is a beep but no tactility. I feel they really missed the boat on these and have designed an awful Bluetooth speaker set. My advice is save yourself £80 and get the 3.0's. Theyre awesome.
