This is the first brush that I really like! It took me almost two hours to buy it because I looked through most of the brushes on Amazon and then some. But I am glad I made the investment in time because it arrived yesterday, and it is perfect. Buying products for my hair now have become a priority since in the past I used many products which ruined my hair. And you know how you feel when everyday is a bad hair day. Now with choosing carefully and *properly* taking care of my hair it is starting to shape up and look better. I have thin fine hair, however, it is starting to get thicker and fuller. Using rose oil and spraying with rose water is helping. Getting back to the brush; first of all the shape is excellent since it molds to your scalp when you use it; the bristles are not too hard, yet hard enough to give your scalp a massage. If you have very thick and abundant hair, you may want to consider another one of the Fuller Brushes. So glad I took the time to choose carefully.

fine, white hair
I'm a man in my early 70's with thinning, fine, white hair. My other brush is a Fuller from years back, and it has very soft nylon bristles. I was trying to duplicate it, but such soft bristles are not to be found anymore. This brush is a close second. It's firmer than the nylon, but I would not call it stiff. Let's say "Medium." I really like it. Easy on the scalp, and does the job without hurting or scratching. I bought two and am glad I did. Because they are Fuller, they will probably be the last brushes I need.

Fuller Brush
This is a nice hair brush, but as other comments said, it is a little soft, even for my fine hair. It is a well made brush and will last for years. I bought it because a hairbrush made in the USA is really hard to find in the stores, and I try to buy American. I use it every day, and it does put a shine in my hair. I gave four stars because I thought a boar bristle brush would be a little more stiffer.

The Best Brush!
I love this brush, it is made with all boar bristles. I have used them for years. I needed a new one because they last for about 15 years. They work better than other kinds of brushes. For long, or fine hair, this brush does not break your hair like the other kinds. This can make a big difference. This brush also gets the oil from the roots down the hair shafts better. I have tried many kinds, and the Fuller brushes work the best. I also have this brush in a purse size. They used to sell them door to door. I am happy to find them on amazon.

LOUSY PRODUCT, DISREPUTABLE MERCHANT!
I got this "Fuller" boar's hair brush on 12/14/12. Have used it daily, dropped it accidentally once before, picked it up and continued using it without a problem. Then yesterday, 6 weeks after receiving it, I dropped it while brushing my hair yesterday and it broke in two! (I thought it was made of plastic, but apparently the material is some kind of composite.) Even a hairbrush from the dollar store doesn't break when you drop it on the floor. I emailed Closeout Zone to return the brush for a refund, but they blew me off: "We are very sorry your brush has broken. Unfortunately if an item is defective, per our policy you only have 30 days for return." Any hairbrush should last more than 30 days and a Fuller brush is NOT supposed to break if you drop it, esp. one less than 2 months old. Luckily, I still have my old wooden Fuller brush to use. (It's nearly 20 yrs. old which is why I thought it was time to buy a new one.) I believe Closeout Zone sold me a fugazy brush that wasn't really made by Fuller. They are a lousy merchant that ripped me off for $22.00. But I will dispute this through Amazon to see if they will issue a refund. And I'll buy my next brush directly from the Fuller brush company website.PS: Well, Amazon blew me off too, claiming they can't help because I didn't return the item within 30 days. The Brush Didn't Break Until 45 Days After I Got It! Which proves to customers that their "A to Z Guarantee" is worthless. But y'know what? I've spent several hundred $$ at Amazon over the last 3 months and now, I'm DONE! Amazon won't get another dime of my money. I'm going back to shopping at Overstock dot com & Casa dot com.

Bad odor after washing
This brush feels really good against my scalp....no problems there. I've used it maybe 50 times since I bought it....no bristles have fallen out that I've noticed....no problems there.I washed it for the first time the other day (I use it only before washing my hair...twice a week). Problem.I've had natural boar bristle brushes in the past and have washed them without noticing any smell afterward (I sniff to make sure there's no residual detergent/shampoo left after rinsing). This one STINKS. I now know what a wild boar smells like when it gets wet. And after it dries.Since hair is such an excellent absorber of environmental smells, you may want to reconsider buying this brush if you use a brush between shampoos. I'll continue to use mine since I go from brushing to shampooing.....but I'd throw it out if I used it more frequently.

The quality of the brush is fine. It is just not as strong as I ...
I have very thick hair, and I was hoping for a brush with very stiff bristles. I purchased a Goody hairbrush many years ago with the same type of bristles, but they were very strong and stiff and did not bend during brushing. I realize it is difficult to know how the brush will perform with thick hair just from judging from the description and picture. The quality of the brush is fine. It is just not as strong as I would have hoped.

Far better than brushes you buy at Walmart
This sturdy, broad, comfortable-to-hold brush may be a little stiff at first, but once you use it a while, and flex the bristles, it does a great job. --I am revising this to mention something that is a bit of a revelation. I found a similar sturdy, stiff, full hairbrush at Albertson's grocery at (needless to say) a lesser expense. I bought it in case this Fuller brush ever broke, and wondered if they were different in some way. As a matter of fact, they are. The Fuller brush lovingly matches the curvature of the skull, whereas the cheaper brush merely approximates it.
