This is the second one of these I have bought. The first one is still going strong after 3 years. No false alarms at all since installing these. They are very easy to fit. You just use the 2 screws and plugs provided to screw the mounting plate to the ceiling and then twist on the device itself to seat it. Also very easy to remove to change batteries or decorate etc. These are much better than the old style ones that used to come with a unique battery pack that used to cost a fortune. These just use 2 AA and these are supplied. I believe every home should have at least one.

We have had this alarm previously and it seemed to last well (over 6 years, when initially guaranteed for 5yrs). We have recently had to replace it. We replaced it with the same model. It now comes with a 7 year guaranteed/ As far as I can tell from basic testing it seems to work as expected, compared with another different device. Although I have not had a fire of carbon monoxide leak. So not fully tested, thankfully. With this recent purchase we received an alarm that had a replacement date only 5yrs 9months away. Obviously old stock as it should have had a replacement date of about 7yrs. I did contact the supplier and to be fair they are arranging for a pro rata refund for the missing period. Seems fair. I’d happily buy again but make sure to check the replacement date stamped on the alarm.

I bought another one of these to replace the same one that's been installed for 7 years, as I was so pleased with it. The seller Safelincs are a brilliant company to deal with: I had a query and they got back to me the same day. I was really pleased with the price as well. Ignore the silly reviews about cooker hobs being left on. This is a really good product; and I would definitely buy off this company again without any hesitation. Before I forget, when the unit comes to the end of its working life it will start beeping to tell you it is time to replace it. What more could you ask for. If you want peace of mind then buy one of these.

This alarm was a doddle to install - drill two holes in the ceiling and fit the bracket with the supplied screws and a couple of wall plugs. The alarm then just slots into the bracket and can be removed for decorating, changing the batteries etc in a few seconds. I've tested my alarm every few months (including once inadvertantly with some burnt toast!) and it works perfectly. It is very loud and there is no question about sleeping through it if it goes off in the night. It gives real piece of mind to know it is there.

Just bought this alarm to replace my Kidde Alarm. I have purchased the Kidde alarm on two occasions now but these only last for 2 years. I am hoping to get longer out of this one. I bought the Kidde alarm the second time around as I did not want to have to drill more holes into the wall but I need not have worried. This alarms mounting plate is excellent as it has various different positions for he screws therefore the previous holes drilled fitted the new plate no more drilling, even though this plate was smaller than the Kidde one. Really Happy with this my only hope now is that it lasts longer than 2 years. I also should mention it uses 2 x AA batteries which I always have in the drawer rather than the 9V ones which was in the Kidde alarm and I always had to go and purchase leaving my home without a smoke alarm.

Very disappointed that after 14 months this alarm has broken - it bleeps intermittently, but frequently. It is not the batteries as I have replaced them. Considering how long the previous First Albert.alarm lasted - at least 4 years - this is really disappointing.

Very easy to set up, just slide the battery drawer out, it's a bit tough to pull out with no batteries inside due to the security features which won't allow you to re close the drawer if you don't put the batteries back inside. The polarity is easily identified so put your batteries in then close the drawer, twist the bottom bracket off then affix it to your ceiling, there are many different places to fit these and the packaging gives you a little map to show where you have to put them. Once the bracket is on the ceiling, simply twist the alarm onto it and there you are. Very easy and fitted in less than 5 minutes. Plus you get the added bonus of detecting both smoke and carbon dioxide in the one unit, rather than having one smoke alarm and one CO detector like i always have done. We had one slight false alarm the other day, it was when i opened the bathroom door and there was a lot of steam in the air which seemed to set it off for a split second, then it went straight back to normal. So i've knocked one star off it for that, but other than that it's ok. I really wanted the connected one to be honest and i purchased this by mistake, as i was going to hook it up to my smart things hub, but i thought i'd just stick with it and when i'm flush get the z wave one to compliment it.

Spero non serva mai, installato spero davvero che faccia il suo lavoro, oramai è un anno che è in funzione, spero davvero che non suoni mai, ho solo provato a farci andare del fumo sopra e l'allarme ha funzionato.

J'en suis à ma quatrième alarme First alert. Sécurité avant tout, vous êtes avertis pour le changement de piles et aussi pour le changement de l'appareil qui a une date de validité d'environ 3 ou 4 ans. Ces avertissements se font par une configuration de bip spéciaux. Pour ce qui est des alarmes elles sont doubles (sonores et visuelles à led), les codes sont différents selon l'alarme (fumée ou monoxyde). Il est recommandé de presser la touche de test une fois par semaine pour vérifier que tout fonctionne parfaitement. Je n'ai jamais eu aucun problème.

Fue muy fácil de instalar, y entiendo que funciona perfectamente (la prueba sí que funciona). Cada año se ven morir decenas de personas en fuegos y por inhalación de monóxido de carbono en España y no se entiende porque no se haga más campañas y/o leyes para que se usaran en todas las casas.

Ho comprato un rivelatore da un azienda che riconosco. Mi sembra sia buono ma fin quando c'è un problema (incendio) non posso dire se sia buona o no!

Produit assure 2 fonctions en 1 (fumée + CO2). Parfait seul souci, le constructeur donne une garantie de 7 ans sur l'emballage alors que le vendeur ne concède que 5 ans. Durée de vie du produit limitée du fait du capteur de détection de CO2 (le fabricant du capteur donne 5 ans de vie de fonctionnement du détecteur). Dommage que le constructeur ne vende pas le détecteur seul cela éviterait de polluer la planète car à chaque fois l'ensemble part aux déchets alors qu'il suffit de changer ce capteur de CO2 qui est clipsé sur la carte électronique.
