Deadly Christmas (Detective Zoe Finch Book 7)

It was a good book story line was slow to start, but then couldn’t put the book down. However, the spelling in the book was a bit hit and miss, I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next part of Zoe‘s new life.

Throughly enjoyed every book, read them back to back they were so good. Love Lesley"s series too , even though I missed the timeline

I enjoyed this book, but thought the ending was a little rushed. It lacked suspense at the end and I couldn't believe it had finished!

Wow such a great book to end the series, I have loved reading all these. They have made me read them quicker so I can see what happens.

I confess I’m a little disappointed with this book. After the killer was arrested I kept waiting for the ‘but’. It seemed like there were doubts about his guilt and just seemed like the author wanted the book wrapping up. I still can’t understand the lack of proper police procedure in this whole series. Surely an officer who had investigated a potentially corrupt officer wouldn’t then be put to work on that persons team? And to say the department is Force CID implies they’re the cream of the crop yet the DI is saddled with two wet behind the ears DCs who behave like spoilt children, one of whom can’t even drive. I thought having a driving license was mandatory in the police force, as in the other emergency services. How was she a PC if she couldn’t drive? The whole series is highly implausible and I find I don’t really care a lot about the characters and what happens to them which to my mind is not a good thing in a book. Not sure if I’ll bother anymore with these books, I found this one so annoying. All the internal struggling as to whether she should do what she’s told or get herself sacked gets a bit wearing. How is she a DI if she can’t follow procedure?

The suspicious death of a person pretending to be a vagrant gets Zoe in the line for indiscretion. Another crime prevents that and the issue is resolved with Zoe and Carl ready for the next phase.

Zoe the red head DI has a knack of doing things by the book, trouble for her is she has her own book and balancing the books leads to eventful days at work. Never a full moment.
