You get what you pay for.
I recently bought two cheaper training katanas which broke in the first training session, frustrated I decided to go with a company I knew, cold steel. I wasn't disappointed, not only could you smash it around all day with little damage to the sword but the handling and ergonomics are perfect, I cannot recommend it enough for solo training or sparring it will preform perfectly for both.
