They have drainage holes to prevent flooding and air holes to help air circulation and the shingle layered roofs help water to run off. The backs are all eaily removeable to make cleaning easy. All of our decorative birdhouses and feeders are intended for outdoor use in the garden or can be enjoyed in the home as a decorative accessory. Our pieces are hand crafted of exterior grade ply-board, kiln-dried hardwood and western red cedar or pine shingles for the roof. The finish is a non-toxic, water based paint.
