Buy Waiting for Baby (New Baby) Illustrated by Fuller, Rachel (ISBN: 9781846432750) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: So much better than the newer version - Please publisher take note, the 'like new' copies of this edition are now £40 or so, because the new edition you've published is just awful in comparison, ugly pictures and the addition of words has made it much worse. This version is a lovely book, with a gender-indeterminate child which makes it very flexible. Illustrations by Annie Kubler just naturally appeal to toddlers (all her books are winners with my children), and the pictures illustrate real life before and after baby in a way toddlers will easily recognise. We are still reading it 18 months after the baby was born! Review: Good - Very nice and good quality

Loved this book!
Bought to read to my daughter. I was worried about how she was going to react to a baby taking over her space so thought better forewarned!! I loved this book and have recommended it to all of my friends. The pictures are great. It shows what can happen when a baby comes along. I especially liked that "Daddy" had to do jobs around the house because Mummy was so tired. And of course Daddy can just be a friend if there isn't a male in the household. When my son came along, my daughter who was nearly 2 by this time knew exactly what was happening. Whether this is down to the book or just the situation I will never know however it gave me peace of mind that I was preparing her for her brother!

great books for young toddlers.
I purchased this book when expecting my second child for my toddler who was only just two when I gave birth. She was absolutely fascinated by these books and we read them several times a day for a few months before my 2nd daughter was born. I really do think it helped her understand what was happening and although she felt a little pushed out when we brought her new sister home she would often refer to the books and never showed any negative feelings towards her sister. I think they helped her understand and deal with the emotions she was feeling as well as us training to make her feel very much part of everything. We also had my new baby by Rachel Fuller and told her it was her new sister and she still says now when strangers are cooing over her sister she is mine mummy! soo sweet 6 months on.

Ok book
This book is ok. It is a short story with lots of pictures for your child to look at and tells a simple story. Not as good as another book we have but maybe more suited to a younger child (my son is 3 nearly 4).

Good book to encourage understanding
I ordered this book to read with my 2.5 year old daughter as I am now 6 months pregnant and wanted something to enable me to explain to her what was happening. This book has few words so you can interpret the pictures as you wish, it takes you through various stages of waiting for the baby including shopping for baby things, scans & check ups, standing at the door with Nanny, waving Mummy & Daddy off as they go to the hospital and finally the baby being brought home. I wasn't sure how much my daughter was taking in but after a few reads she was talking all about the new baby in mummy's tummy so I'm hoping that this will make her a little more prepared for the transition!

waiting for baby
This is my son's favourite book at the moment. We are currently 5 months pregnant and bought this to help my son adjust to the idea that mummy is pregnant with a baby and what that means for him and us. He talks though the pages himself and says where we have chosen clothes, toys etc for baby and how we also see baby on the tele at the hospital at the scans (these are all pages of the book) and it is a very nice way to help him make sense of whats happening. The pictures are lovely and we all love this book.

create your own story!
This book has lovely illustrations, including breastfeeding mother which I have found refreshing in comparison to the majority of books which show baby being bottle-fed. We can tell the story to suit our daughter, "look, here's you giving Mummy's tummy a kiss!", "remember when we went to the doctor and had a look at the baby in Mummy's tummy?" etc.. And as she gains a greater understanding we can change the story to include more detail. a great book for any age.

We read this book to our son for months leading up to the second baby’s birth. I think it really helped with his transition from an only child to having a sibling. Highly recommend.
