Q: This says large - how do i order size small? my feet are smaller that 8

I went by the size of my shoe size and with. I brought M-L. I wear size 8

Q: Are these heel pads of good quality? Can they relieve pain?

yes - these help with Plantar Fasciitis, I do like the Velcro option - but there is other pairs that I favor also! i don't have to wear them often except during flare up - wear them for a few days until pain is gone and able to exercise my foot/ankle properly.

Q: Has anyone used these with inserting a heel lift?

Actually no I just used these without any heel lift but they felt good. A little like you are stepping on a secure gel. They were comfortable and felt secure they did not slip around the shoe.

Q: Can you use heel cream with these?)

I would think not because they are gel and foot cream would make them really slippery. I wouldn't take that chance. Maybe other people feel differently.
