The board itself is fine, and when it's open, sits flat without a noticeable gap at the join. My issue is mainy with the chess pieces. The majority of the cloth circles on the bases were stuck on really badly: uneven, and with obvious globs of glue on some of them. They're also pretty wobbly when you put them on the board.This might be an okay set if you don't have much room, don't care about aesthetics, and just want to teach someone the rudiments of the game without forking out for a better quality version. But if you're looking for anything more than that, give it a miss. An example of 'you get what you pay for'.

Looks amaxing, feels amazing, chess pieces look peng af (amazing) and authenic in a way, the colour in backgammon is really nicely under thin even coated varnish. Only tin thing is that the dice are a little poor, just not impressive unlike the knights. And they make a very loud sound if thrown on the board. Also dice cups not included would be bettter with.

The product is fit for purpose and it is very light in weight so is very easy to carry with me my only issue is that the board doesn't fold completely flat when try to play chess, this doesn't cause any issues but its just not very aesthetically pleasing.

Gorgeous gift for our grandson. Something different for him as it is made of wood and not plastic like most of his toys, and also, it's something he can use and enjoy for the whole of his life-time.

This is one exquisite three in one set strong wooden pieces, strong board carved chess and draught pieces in beautiful cherry wood, varnished and polished to perfection. Going to enjoy using this over Christmas. A great find on Amazon.
