Tasty Protein bar that is also Great Vaue for Money.
Recommended by someone at work! These are the perfect snack for people aiming to loose weight or build muscle. However they are best eaten post workout. I normally eat one after a work out but not on my rest days. After trying many protein bars these are the best value for money and considering the price they are also the tastiest! You get 19 grams of protein and 1.9 Grams of Sugar per bar so the macros are great! There are bars with more protein however they are much more expensive for that extra gram or two more. Currently a box of 12 is £9.95 (as I write this) which works out to about 82p a bar. Which is almost the same as purchasing a snickers bar from the vending machine at work for me. So these are a no brainer. There are much tasty bars like the Quest bars but at £20 average for a case of 12 they are pretty much double the price. So its really about your wants, needs and budget. But I will finish with the Peanut Butter bar is absolutely amazing. So just give it a try once and I am sure 9 out of 10 will buy again! I am already on my third box!

Good value, great taste and wholesome ingredients.
As far as protein bars go, these work out to be pretty good value for money. They come in at just under a pound a pop and pack 19 grams of protein too; which is pretty respectable although there are bars out there that contain 25 grams or more. The ingredients too look good with the flapjacks being made up of a 36% oat blend. Taste wise, they're good too. They're a little sweet for my taste but I like that they have a soft and gooey texture rather than a teeth crackingly hard one. They're nice and moist and also benefit from being dipped in white chocolate, leaving a thin coating along the bottom of the bar - not unlike the yoghurt coating along the bottom of Alpen cereal bars (if you've ever had them). The box arrived pretty battered. Torn and falling apart in fact and it didn't matter. I was expected to have a box-full of bars that were reduced to crumbs, but because the flapjacks are soft and chewy, they all survived the trip through the Royal Mail sorting office even if their display box didn't. Overall I think these are a good, tasty source of protein that is welcome in my lunch box anytime. In fact, I'd go so far as to say, PHD's Flap Jack is a 'berry' good bar - Ho! Ho! Ho! boom-boom! Thank you ladies and gentlemen I'm here all night... Here are the stats, figures and nutritional information per bar: Energy (KJ) = 1200 Energy (Kcal) = 286 Protein = 19 grams Carbs = 42.8 grams (of which are sugar) = 10.1 grams Polyols = 10.6 grams Fat = 6.5 grams (of which saturates) = 2.7 grams Dietary Fibre = 2.5 grams Sodium = 0.056 grams Allergy Information is as follows: The bars contain Gluten, Soya, Milk and may contain eggs, peanuts and other nuts.

Not too shaby for a protein flapjack...
These are actually really tasty. But let's start form scratch here. I like protein bars very much, I train a lot and sometimes I fancy something sweet, a protein snack is quite handy those times. I have tried USN, Quest, and some other stuff from GSK... but to be honest, these are surprisingly well done. No matter if flapjack, or just a regular bar, one will always taste the protein powder they added, that's just normal... however, these flapjacks cover it very well, perhaps because of the oats, I dunno, but this morning I just had this "OMG, they're delicious" moment and I think I will continue with this bar than others. Unless they are unavailable and I try another type. Anyhow, bottom line is, when getting protein bars/flapjacks, whatever, don't expect them to taste like a snikers or whatever, that will never happen. It's because of the ingredients or rather what's missing in them. :) BUT, these bars are good, they taste delicious, but everyone favors different things, so I would advise to give them a try, they are worth their money. I was hesitant too at the beginning, because some reviews indicated "terrible" and "disgusting", but they ain't too bad.

Best value for money; quick snack
Update after having several: The taste is okay; very slightly sweet and it's a bit filling too. I previously left 3 stars, but it really deserves 5 stars. You cant get decent protein bars any cheaper than this and if you're just looking for a quick bite to fill your stomach for an hour or two, then this is the best option. If you want a proper sweet snack taste, then look elsewhere - those tastier bars have very similar nutritional values yet they cost 2-3 times more! ------------------------------------------------------------- These flapjack bars (peanut butter flavour) are simply okay. These taste extremely similar to the snickers protein bar, except the snickers bar had smoother texture and were a bit sweeter (due to the chocolate layer). Both of these tasted okay; not bad but not great either. But... The way I see it, snacks are supposed to taste nice, even if it's a protein snack for bodybuilding. Compared to the Snickers bars, these flapjacks are much cheaper so I definitely recommend these over those. I've tried different protein bars and the only one I can really recommend is the PhD Nutrition Smart Bar (Chocolate Peanut Butter flavour). Both bars have very similar nutritional values (the smart bar just has slightly less carb), but it tastes so much better and it's much more filling. Unfortunately, you have to pay double for the smart bars but if you want something tasting good, that's what you'll want.

Triforce of Power - Price, Taste & Ingredients
Best bar, bar none. This is from the point of view of a consumer with no nutritional expertise so I can't attest to the objective nutritional value. They don't have maltodextrin however which is a rare thing and I avoid it like the plague in my protein products due to ... side effects. The low sugar content is another big bonus, although I hesitate seeing Sucralose type of sweeteners. I've tried a lot of different bars, from Quest to MaxiNutrition and well beyond. Maxinutrition is my usual preference but it was time to move on. The PhD bars have a sort of tangy taste to them - which I assume to be the protein content - and they're sticky soft. You still know you're eating a protein bar is the best way I can put it. Yet for the price point, ingredients and edibility these are a five star product for me. If the price were to increase I would definitely re-evaluate that.

Tasty and exactly what's needed
I don't have a sweet tooth or a sweet diet, but what I do have is issues with my protein intake and a space between meals that needs a good nutritious snack to kill off what hunger pangs may linger at work. Let's face it, no matter how much you claim to not have a sweet tooth, the donut and pizza-fest they have in offices is a ridiculous temptation, is it not? These PhD protein bars are tasty morsels. Prepare yourself though if you're not used to the sugar hit, as they are quite sweet and very, very dense. Hunger is kept away neatly, and the high-protein low GI low saturated fat combo is an obvious plus. This is my first test of PhD's products and I'm pleased with the results. Certainly going to look at purchasing more in the future, though probably through Amazon as the prices on here are more keen than the ones seen on their own website. NUTRI-FACTS - if you eat too many of these, they have a laxative effect. trolol - 1 - 2 daily as part of your meal plans - 286 kcal per bar - 19g protein - 42.8g carbs (10.1g sugars) - 10.6g polyols - 6.5g fat (2.7g saturated) - 2.5g dietary fibre

yummy mmmm
well just a great taste i am really suprised ..deliciously so , berry?! yep...its beyond berry ............ its VERY tasty - theyve got a realistic sweet berry - almost tang to them - yet theyre deliciously smooth and mellow theyre really quite chewy as well while still being reasonably firm theyve got a white chocolate flavor coating on one side as well , im sure it adds a creamyness to it (ive just had a second bar to taste the white choc coating again) and id say youll have fun licking it off but im having trouble tasting the white chocolate by itself. perhaps if it was in a dish n i could put my finger in n try it but yeah better 2 have a creamy white coating than not & maybe on my 4th bar i will decipher the white chocolate taste .....id say its more like a choc-o-latte taste that happens 2 be white n creamy but hey ive only have 2 bars n i have another 22 2 go.... dont wrry ,im planning on having 2 or 3 a day & no more than 4 if i really cant help it & have done enough muscle building 2 warrant it ......... ;-P uve got 2 be sensible !!!! i dnt know if 4 bars ..thats 80 grams protein a day is good 4 u or if u might develop a muscley tumor growth and turn in2 a cancerous raging bull.. !! buy these bars n dare 2 find out if u can limit urself 2 2 or 3 a day !!!!!!!! EDIT: forget about flapjack really...... im sure its in there.. i did taste oatyness which was very tasty but they eat like a smooth treat bar more than anything else, anyhoo bye for now have fun yall
