Good protection. Limited again thorns and brambles though.
These are good, tough, comfortable gloves, but they do not provide quite the protection again thorns I was hoping for. I can tell you, from my own painful experience, thorns DO penetrate these, sometimes quite easily. Certainly, if you were to grip and large thorn at 90 degrees and clasp your hand around it it's going to go through so you still need to handle brambles lightly and carefully.I have a privet hedge that gets overtaken with brambles by the end of the summer and I was sick of the agony of piercing thorns when trying to clear them so bought these. Yes, the gauntlet style gives excellent protection for your forearms, I'll definitely concede that, but you can't just grab handfuls of brambles with these and expect not to get hurt.Given the variety of reviews on here from they provide total protection to they provide none at all, is that they very as they're made from leather and probably vary from pair to pair. I read one review stating they were so stiff the review was sure she/he'd be able to move his or her hands in them, whereas mine, I thought, were very supple from the word go.These are, without doubt, the most effective gardening gloves I've ever had, and give superb protection again nettles and all other non-spikey materials, but, at three times the price of ordinary gardening gloves, so they should. They provide better protection against brambles than cheaper gloves but not as much as I hoped.

Gloves are reasonable quality
I've used these a few times and they provide adequate protection against nettles, thistles etc but chunky thorns will get through the gloves. Another downside is that after a few hours, the yellow dye from the gloves gets onto your hands and takes ages to remove. I've just had a shower and the dye has finally gone after about 24 hours. If the dye problem could be resolved, then I would recommend them.

Medium Duty at best
These gauntlets are very thin and to call them "Heavy Duty" is very much a misnomer. For jobs such as picking up branches etc they will be fine. However they are pretty useless for dealing with brambles, or at least the established sort of brambles that are plagueing a corner of my garden. Having bought them for that purpose I am not impressed, and currently wear them as under gauntlets with my old pair to give at least some protection where the fabric on the older pair has gone (the fact I can do this should give some warning as to how thin they are (no lining). For jobs not involving the dreaded bramble patch they are pretty much fine... but I did buy them for real heavy duty use!

Excellent!
I've used these T&C gauntlets for some years with great satisfaction. Hard wearing & excellent value for money. I recently decided to buy a pair of competitive gauntlets at twice the price after reading their blurb and they wore out in just over a week pruning old roses & hawthorn hedging. So back to Town & Country. Made me appreciate just how good they are.

Flawed but useable
The stitching on one thumb broke and the material separated there on the first day of use, so that was less than impressive but as this is on the side of the thumb hasn't really been too much of a problem. Used them for three hours today and was left with yellow hands from the dye used in the gloves which didn't completely come off with the first wash with soap. Otherwise, they are comfortable but to me smack of being production seconds. As far as protection is concerned, I've been doing a lot of bramble work clearance and the thorn protection is fairly good. You can grab handfuls of all but the most savage lengths and as long as you don't squeeze too hard, avoid skin punctures. The gauntlet collars do their job well.I wear an old jumper which protects the rest of my arms adequately and, most importantly, a mesh face visor, which I'd say is essential for anybody working with appreciably thorny material. Many reviews have suggested buying a size larger than you would imagine and I would certainly agree. I followed this advice and went for a large over the medium I'd normally go for, and they fitted perfectly.

Comfortable but soft leather
For the gentlemen gardener only !Likely to wear quickly if used for heavy gardening such as digging, planting and handing stones and other hard debris.Use cautiously when pruning as redundant tips of glove fingers get caught in secateurs leading to instant holes !I buy these regularly and expect a new pair annually, recent purchased pair has worn through thumb and index in 2 months !

Leather long sleeve Mens Gloves
I have bought these for a Christmas present. I can't really comment on the comfort or stretch as they are way too big for me. They look really good and I am sure they will be greatly appreciated, especially good for anyone dealing with roses or thorny hedges

Great protection and comfy fit
Very good quality. All leather. Comfy to use, however any moisture build up inside glove will stain your hands yellow. Does wash off eventually and after the gloves have been used a few times, the staining becomes less.Good protection from the usual brambles, roses andNettles etc.Good protection for wrists and lower arms, especially if wearing short sleeves.
