Best beard dye on the market. Mix with boiling hot water.
This is by far the best beard dye on the market. Yes, it’s a two-step process and does take about two hours, but the time spent is absolutely worth it. No skin irritation whatsoever. The color is great and lasts until it grows out. After trying nearly every beard dye out there and having extreme allergic reactions to all of them it was such a blessing to discover Indus Valley. I’m a customer for life. IMPORTANT: Mix the powder with boiling hot water. I believe the reviews stating that the color doesn’t hold or turned their beard green is because they didn’t use boiling hot water. Hot Water Helps the Dye-Bearing Molecules Release. Plant powders like henna and indigo don’t dissolve — they release their active dye compounds when heat and moisture break down the plant cell structure. Hot water accelerates that release so you get a stronger color yield right away. This is the same basic reason hot water matters in henna — it helps free the color molecules and also gives you a smooth paste.

Dangerous. Do not use it. Almost burned my skin off.
It boasts about all natural ingredients so I thought I would be fine. I’m not. The chemicals in this are toxic. Nearly burned my skin off. Blisters oozing, burn marks and painful. Went to Dr and they put me on allergy meds, high doses of prednisone and a prescription strength hydrocortisone and none of it seems to be helping much yet. It’s like worse than JustforMen beard coloring.

It works
I can't use regular men's beard coloring, my skin reacts horribly. I literally get chemical burns that last for weeks, it's terrible. I've been using the daily wash and that's ok but doesn't always work the best, so I wanted to find another solution. I ran across this brand while doing my research, here are my thoughts: Pros It works for the most part, and it did not irritate my skin at all. I keep my beard close cut, so I don't need much product each time. One box should last me several months. Cons It takes much longer than normal products. The full cycle is around 2 hours with several steps to complete. You need to schedule the time to get this done. The color isn't as dark as advertised. I got Dark Brown and it was more like a medium brown. I might try Black and see how that does. The product creates a thick and crumbly texture on your face. Crumbs can and will fall off which need to be cleaned up, not a huge deal. Weird smell that you have to endure for 2 hours. All in all, this is a viable product that solved my needs for the most part. It's not the most convenient to use, but that' the tradeoff when one can't handle the harsh chemicals of regular beard color.

Not dark brown for grey or white hair.
It turned my Grey hair first green then blue then indigo.

No allergy to the skin
I am just afraid that if the company stop making this product then what i will do? I have used all the other type of colors and found massively bad and allergic to my skin and those colors leave the stains over the skin and have no natural look. Thank for producing this color which gives natural look to the beard and last longer than any other colors and no allergy as there is no chemical used. Fantastic color !!!

Doesn't work
This product sucks!!!! I applied it and left for 30 minutes like it said on the introduction, and as soon as wash it it came right off. It's big waste of time. Do not buy!!!!!

Misleading: hair conditioner pouch has chemicals, dyes have no chemicals
Full ingredient list below. The hair dye pouches contain no chemicals, but the hair conditioner pouch does contain chemicals. Is the hair conditioner really necessary? Maybe not. My guess is that the hair conditioner is so that the color lasts longer. Rating 3 stars for being misleading, falsely stating on the box that "this product contains 100% botanical and no added chemicals whatsoever" and not disclosing the full ingredient list on this Amazon listing. Summary of directions: prepare Pouch A hair dye and apply to beard, wait 30 - 45 minutes, rinse, prepare Pouch B dye and apply to beard, wait 45 minutes to 1 hour, rinse. If you scan the QR code on the Hair Conditioning pouch (this is the third pouch), it takes you to a YouTube video titled "Indus Valley Gel Colour How To Use" on their channel "Indus Valley Organic Beauty" where it shows the lady doing the above steps, then washing her hair with Indus Valley Aloe Colour Protective Shampoo (not included), rinsing, towel drying her hair, then applying the third pouch "Hair-Eaze Conditioning Mask," then washing her hair in normal water, then rinsing and drying properly with a towel. Seems like the video is a generic video for applying their product. Hair Eaze Spa Mask ("hair conditioner") ingredients: Aqua (Himalayan spring purified water), Cetyl alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Behentrimonium chloride, Stearyl alcohol, Phenyltrimethicone, Wheat germ (Triticum vulgare) extract, Butylene glycol, Panthenol, Hydrolysed wheat protein, Glycol stearate, Sweet Almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil, Casein, Polyquaternium-10, Sorbic acid, Citric acid, Sodium benzoate, Benzyl alcohol & Potassium sorbate. The "Behentrimonium chloride" sounds like a gentler form of ammonium chloride. Pouch A ingredients: Henna (Lawsonia inermis) leaf powder, Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria) leaf powder, Senna (Cassia angustifolia) leaf powder, Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) fruit powder, Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) seed powder, Black sesame (Sesamum indicum) seed powder, Coffee (Coffea arabica) seed powder, Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) leaf powder, Black seed (Nigella sativa) powder (extract). Pouch B ingredients: Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria) leaf powder, Henna (Lawsonia inermis) leaf powder, Senna (Cassia angustifolia) leaf powder, Black sesame (Sesamum indicum) seed powder, Coffee (Coffea arabica) seed powder, Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) fruit powder, Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) seed powder, Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) leaf powder, Black seed (Nigella sativa) powder (extract).

Seems to work fine
Seems like a pretty long process but the dark Brown seems to work OK. Adds a reddish hue to my beard but hopefully that will return to more dark brown as time passes. I had some minor skin irritation but that seems to diminish as time goes on. At least for now, I am satisfied with the product and hope that time will cause my anticipated result!
