Not ideal for retro gaming
I bought this as a cheap and easy way to hook up several older composite output devices via HDMI. For that purpose it does get the job done, but instead of simply up-scaling the input image, blocks and all, it appears to attempt some "image enhancement", sort of like the image filters on some emulators. This works fine for normal video but sadly the results are pretty poor for retro consoles like the Super Nintendo or Genesis / Mega Drive , especially for games that pack a lot of tight detail into a few pixels. Whatever it's doing to try and enhance the image and smooth out sharp edges also appears to introduce noise (think mosquito noise in a JPEG). The noise is less noticeable when objects are in motion, but when they aren't moving it can look pretty bad. Characters and objects that could be clearly identified in their native blocky form can become a speckled jelly mess with this device, forcing you to squint and work to decipher what you're looking at.I've got nothing against filters for retro gaming, but the end result of what this device is doing detracts far more than it enhances, and sadly, it gives you no way to turn the feature off. The standard up-scaling performed by many AV receivers is far preferable.I switched back and forth between the 720P and 1080P up-scaler settings several times to try and see if one output setting looked better than the other. In the end I determined that the 1080P setting seems to introduce slightly more noise than the 720P, but both were pretty ugly. It's nice to see how much prices have come down on this kind of device vs what they were a few years ago. I think this specific design was just a bit too ambitious for it's own good, at least for some of my intended uses. A unit without the filtering, or the ability to turn it of would have been preferable. Still, I'm sure there are a lot of applications (maybe old video cameras etc..) where the filtering won't detract, and may even provide some enhancement.Just make sure you're buying this for the right use and it will be fine.

Plug and Play, NO need to access settings. Great buy.
Product allows me to connect my PlayStation 2 to a Sony 65inch TV through HDMI, I did not need to worry about accessing the play station settings, and enabling PCYB . It was direct plug and play. The unit also has a switch on the side to select 720p or 1080p. I also like the fact that I can connect it to my android phone power cord, and amazon fire stick power cord, as they all use the same 5v USB adapter.

RIP OFF! DO NOT BUY!
Product does not work. It just gives a blue screen. I bought it for classic games to run on my hdmi tv. It won’t work for any of my games. Money lost, lesson learned. I thought those 5 star reviews were a bit too commercial. Should have known better.

It works but HDMI cable and power plug are not included
The manual doesn't say anything about where I connect USB cable!! I researched and figured out I need to use my iPhone power plug which I need to use for my iPhone everyday. Also the HDMI cable was not included and I had to use the HDMI cable I am using for Blu-ray. It's working but I wish the package come with all the things I need and ready to use.

Didn't work for me
I used several different sets of RCA cables and HDMI cables, but it wouldn't work when connected to any of the HDMI ports on my new smart TV. I could get picture but no sound.
