Great grater!
Previous to this, I had a grater that had very good, sharp cutters. Unfortunately, the frame of the box grater was made of a plastic that shattered after about 3 years of use. I was really torn between whether or not to buy another of the same thing - the cutters were the best that I had ever used, but the frame was just not up to snuff. Then, I found a review on Serious Eats that gave this grater the top rating, so I decided to purchase it. Well, I'm not disappointed! The cutters work very well - they're almost scary sharp, like my last box grater. I had a wedge of Parmesan cheese handy - just a few almost effortless strokes gave me a mound of perfectly grated cheese. Clean up was a breeze - if you use a sponge, just remember to always pass it over the teeth in the opposite way than when you grate. Otherwise you'll end up with a sink full of sponge shreds. The handle is fine, and the grater itself is all metal, so it shouldn't crack and fall apart if I drop it. The only thing that I'm on the fence about is my old grater had rubber-covered steel legs that held it about an inch off the surface I was grating on. That made it easier to use the entire grating surface (including the bottom rows of cutters), and would keep the shreds I was making from building up and compacting in the box - they could flow out onto the surface I was grating on. So, I could grate a whole bunch without having to empty the box. I guess I could always just hold the grater in one hand, the block of food in the other, and grate in the air over a bowl, but that gets a bit awkward if I'm grating something large, like a big heavy block of cheese. Oh, well, just a minor niggle - other than that, this thing is exactly what I was looking for!

Great grater - buy it!
Top rated on multiple sites, and I agree 👍. The micro-plane type grater teeth are sharp and grate well. I use the coarsest teeth for cheddar cheese all the time, a relatively hard extra-sharp Cabot cheddar, works great. Put it on nachos, put it on salad, put it on a flour tortilla and make a quesadilla, put some on a taco, yummy 😋. I use the medium teeth all the time to grate romano cheese. Works great, the grated cheese is almost fluffy (in the best way!) Put it on pasta, put it on minestrone soup, put it on salad, yummy 😋. The smallest teeth work great too. The slicer blade is sharp and is the first box grater blade that I've ever used that works worth a darn. This blade is like a fixed thickness mandoline slicer, and works great for the extra-sharp Cheddar to make CONSISTENT thin slices of cheese. The blade and the body of the grater don't bend or deflect while you are using it, and thus you get nice even consistent sliced food. The handle is comfortable. The construction is sturdy and doesn't bend when you are using it and pushing down on the food as you are grating or using the slicer blade. The size is good, not too big or too small. For use or for storage. Cleanup is easy, dishwasher safe and it comes out clean. No real nooks or crannies that trap crud. I use it held in the air to grate small(er) amounts of cheese right onto a single serving bowl or plate of food. For grating larger amounts, I will usually rest the base of the grater on a dinner plate and grate away. Tilt the grater if you want a little more hand clearance to the plate. For even larger amounts, rest the grater base on a cutting board and go to town. Again, tilt the base for hand clearance. This is a GREAT box grater. Highly recommended. Buy it!

A truly excellent box grater
Excellent box grater, with razor blade sharp cutting panels. I cook a lot and I mean every day, multiple times a day. My food processor is terrific but sometimes, a good box grater is all that’s needed and my very old, but also good one has gotten dull. I did what we all should do: research on the best I could afford. So glad I went with Cuisipro after reading many, many brands’ and chefs’ reviews. Maybe a different brand is good too but I can only speak about this one being completely perfect. The ginger/garlic grater that is part of the bottom cap is truly effective and easy to use, the whole thing is easy to clean, and I don’t have a single criticism of this product.

The Better Grater. This is the one to get.
My wife is an excellent cook and wanted a better Grater. I bought the XO, Gorilla Grip, and this one to test and see which one she prefers. This is the one that she and I prefer. Better build quality, very sharp, easy to clean, better ergonomics. The others are good. This one is better. We will keep the XO for camp use. We will give the other one away to someone who needs it.

Good but cover on bottom is a bother
This grater does the job including shaving chocolate. I found I only use two slots. The others produce fine results where the item looks like bread crumbs. I thought the container on the bottom would be useful. It's not. Mine takes effort to remove and when it does, pop, your contents spill over the counter which defeats the purpose. Yes, the spilling happens when you have a container under the grater when opening the bottom. No issue with dishwasher- cleans up well.

Perfect!
Everyone in our home cooks and bakes a lot. I did a bunch of research before buying this after the plastic on a microplane one I had cracked. First of all I was shocked at how much garters had gone up in price at some of the higher end kitchen supply stores. I bought this based on a Wirecutter recommendation. Love it! Sharp with multiple cutting surfaces for different uses and not a lot of plastic to split when you use it a lot.

De rasp maar een paar keer gebruikt en de handgreep laat aan een kant los ook kwam er na reinigen in de vaatwasser opeens een rechthoekig ijzertje uitzetten maar direct na de klacht terug gestuurd en was garantie

Best grinder I have ever owned. Two years in servis and still sharp. We use it almost daily. Definitely worth the price.

This is a top quality grater. I had to think several times about paying this price over the cheaper graters available. However, I took a deep breath and took the plunge based on the 25-year guarantee, the fact you generally get what you pay for, and the performance of a smaller Cuisipro grater I bought recently. I'm really pleased I did as the performance is worth every penny. The one feature I notice more than any other is that Cuisipro graters don't blunt and clog like cheaper ones. Once you've finished grating vegetables or cheese you simply rinse the grater under a tap and it comes perfectly clean in seconds! That's due to the teeth being so very sharp of course - so do be careful! That's also a point worth considering if the grater will be used by children, the elderly or those whose grip is a little unsteady. Whether my grater will still be functioning perfectly in 25 years' time remains to be seen, but I don't see why not. Even if not, then the guarantee is a measure of the manufacturer's faith in the quality of their product and I don't think that's misplaced. This grater is well worth the money and yours will almost certainly last for many years.
