Myson Adaptor for TRV 2-Way Thermostatic Radiator Valve Head 28mm to 30 mm adapter

Having a mixture of old and new radiators, and being unable to find a plumber willing to undertake an upgrade of the old radiator connectors because two of the old thermostats had failed, I fitted these adaptors and bought new thermostats to go on top. Easy to fit and does the job until I can finally get a plumber to sort it all out properly. Thx.

I needed this to retrofit a legacy heating system to work in conjunction with my nest thermostat. It did just the job. A simple piece of hardware that can bring even an old radiator system up to standard.

We have an older radiator in the living room that uses a 28mm TRV. Having bought 30mm TRVs for other rads around the house I decided to try this little thing to see if it'd work. It works perfectly. Happy days.

Like all old houses my radiators had 28 mm valves. Replaced them with Kasa smart TRVs. These adaptors were exact fit. The screw in to old valve was difficult at first then after few mm got easy and completely screwed in. No need for pennies as mentioned by other reviewers. The pin was out adequately.

I checked the side which attaches to the radiator (28mm) which is fine, the 30mm side which is supposed to attach to the valve does not fit. I checked the valve itself by taking it to a plumber, and it's correct, so it must be the adapter which is faulty. The seller did not acknowledge liability so I had to pay for the return postage. The width does not fit a large letter max, so it should have gone as a parcel, meaning returning it just wouldn't have been worth my while, so I used large letter and was eventually refunded

The range extension was not enough for my radiator. I could only get one turn on the thread and it was not enough to hold, so would fall off. Needs longer thread

Work perfect with TRV. Decent alternative

Bought this as I need to replace the thermostatic heads on our old, 28mm fitting TRVs. Also bought a Myson 2-Way head to fit on it. First thing to note is that this is NOT a Myson product even though the description suggests that it is. Second thing to note is that the image shows an apparently chrome plated adaptor with a hexagon head. What you actually get is a turned aluminium adaptor with a plain round head in place of the hexagon. As a result, the genuine Myson TRV head doesn't quite fit unless you force it on. I query how long the plastic parts of the Myson head will last when subjected to this abuse. In its favour, the adaptor does fit the 28mm valve and (once you've forced the Myson head onto it), it does allow the TRV to function as it should. I cannot really recommend this product.
