The Chicago Story - Complete Greatest Hits [Uk Version]

I heard ‘If you leave me now’ on R2’s Pick of the Pops and was swept back to slow dancing to this as a teenager. And asked myself was this band a one hot wonder - as I searched You Tube and clicked on Wikipedia. A whole world opened to me as I realised that far from being one hit wonders they are one of the US’s biggest selling bands. And joy of joys - there was a greatest hits album for me to enjoy. And this is it. If I say this has brought me one of my greatest pleasures of this year - do not sneer. It’s an absolute joy and delight to find a new band (a very old one) and yes, I fell deeply for Peter Cetera. It’s the voice and the presence. And although the ‘non Peter’ hits are great it’s the Peter Cetera songs I love best. Sigh ... ‘You’re my inspiration’ - what a romantic guy. What a very tight band. What great harmonies. Favourite tracks ... all the Peter Cetera ones but the other tracks are pretty amazingly good too especially ‘Will you still love me’, it’s a brilliant track that barely misses Peter Cetera as the voice is so similar but dare I say, slightly stronger on this track.

Excellent compilation put together and remastered by Rhino an American company that specializes in remastering older recordings and doing it to a high standard which means the sound quality is rather good. I bought mine in used as new condition and a real bargain. I highly recommend this compilation

Well, If You Can'r Think Of A Name For Your Group,? ...Try The Place-Name Where You Formed Up.... Can't Be Bothered To Come Up With A Title For Your Album(s) ?... Just Number Them.....Sequentially After A Few.... ( I Mean Just How Many LPs Have Been Entitled " Alone Together " By Different Acts ? ) Want To Keep The Group Together ?...Let Some Of The Guys Go Off And Do Their Own Hits ( Peter Cetera ) But Don't Let Any Members Play With Loaded Weapons ( Terry Kath - 1978 ) It's All Here...I Remember The Folks In Promotion At CBS ( COLUMBIA Records ) Really Working Overtime On Both Of Their Premiere Acts....Blood Sweat & Tears And The ( Then ) Chicago Transit Authority..... They Didn't Need To Worry....Both Groups Sold Records By The Shed-Load, But Unlike The Ego -Problematic David Clayton Thomas Who Contributed To The Demise Of BS&T, Chicago Kept Pumping Out Their Brass-Fuelled Sides, Well Into The Next Decade And Beyond.....

loved every track on this cd, invoked so many memories for me, i was so pleased to find it on amazon, as i bought one copy in a charity shop recently, only to find that when i played it at home, it was a bad copy, and several tracks would not download onto my ipod, so i bought the pucka copy from amazon, played it in the car recently on a long journey, really enjoyed it, well done amazon

Oh what memories.....I saw them at what was called The Hammersmith Odeon back in the day, live and wonderful. Every single song is a dream and so many many memories - for those who do not know Chicago....big band sound with rhythm and blues and a wonderful singer! All songs are wonderfully written and tuneful and they sure do not write them like this anymore! Also the wonderful Peter Cetera sings on many of the tracks!
