LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play

Very good for 30. Initially was disappointed but this is a DAC and as such takes time to burn in. The more I use it the better it gets. Soon started producing a much smoother detailed sound than the stock qualcom one. You can find cases which fit on ebay (have to import from Korea). As a standalone DAC it'll transform your computer over a sound card or, even more so, on board audio. It's not as good as my dragonfly red but nor should it be. You don't need to listen to flaac files to hear the difference. Even spotify 320 mp3s sound much clearer. It does make your phone a bit long so probably won't want it on all the time. Also have got charging slowly error but remove and reinsert USB and all is well.

The b&o hi-fi plus effect is like a you have good car with 200hp and you put into them a motor with 800hp more! :-) ... The sound quality is amazing!you heard all the frequency band from the deepest bass to the highest tones perfectly without distortion, the volume is superb! My Zenheiser momentum inear can only be longplayed att max 50% att the volume otherwise you can broke your ears, and my Bose QC25 can't be played att max because can get broken!..love love love this pice of kit! :-) The bad : The size of the module fix the phone main house, The battery drain is fast because the strong amplifier ! Like a sport car hehe! :-) If you like sound quality and you can leave with this small issues this is your phone and this is your module! No one can come closer in sounds quality! After using a pair of Hi Res Cans with the LG G5, using the standard 3.5mm jack with the phones own 24 bit DAC, I was amazed at the difference my mp3s sounded. Trust me, even rubbish 128kps ripped audio is given an upscale boost. I decided on the B&O module, to see if it could be improve d even more,and slipped my Sony MDR-1A Hi Res cans in. I simply cannot believe the difference in the music. It's actually, sometimes, stopping me from enjoying the music as I am stunned at the differences in tracks that I've been listening to for over 30yrs. I cannot recommend this module enough of you want your music to sound unreal. It's not a fad, it really is that good. And that's just with my own mp3s. I haven't even tried it with any FLAC/Lossless audio yet. Slip it on and keep it there. Battery usage is increased slightly but I have a spare that I take anyway (coz the G5 has woeful battery consumption). It still fits my dock and there are a few cases on ebay that are made to fit with the module on. Just have a look.

The purpose of the device is to improve audio quality and it does that very well. Audio is brighter and has more clarity. However, it does use quite a lot of battery and gets very hot during extended use. Also, it doesn't work with all Android devices, check that your device has On The Go support before purchasing. Also. If your device has a USB 3 connection (mostly newer devices), you'll need an adapter.

Although improves soundstage and has the ability to play 32bit Hi Res files, I would say the dynamics and particularly volume is no different to the LG G5 built in Snapdragon DAC. Rather disappointed, especially in terms of little volume increase. Doesn't even compare to my Fiio E18 DAC

For a long time since buying my LG G5 I have wanted to purchase this item but the initial price of between £60-£80 put me off. Thankfully thanks to the wonderful people at Total Digital, I finally managed to pick up a perfect graded one for just under £27 inc. p&p. At this price it is a highly desirable upgrade to an already good sounding phone. It opens up the whole sounds and smooths the bass without losing any of the punch on my AKG Y50’s. I might still say at it’s full selling price it is a bit of a luxury, but if you can pick up one as I did at less than £30 you won’t regret it 😎👍

Worked like a charm, I have multiple earphones and I do listen to my phone every day, this was maybe the best investment for a LG G5 I have done, as it made it as good as it can get, sound is much more clearer and powerful, paired with my B&O earphones it is amazing. Only one drawback is it would require a special case(that is if you use a case for your phone) that you currently can't find from UK seller on either Amazon or Ebay. If I haven't dropped my G5 on the treadmill I would have been still using it only because because of the DAC

Riprendendo la mia guida per Evosmart.it vi spiegherò perché molti di voi non hanno compreso il senso di questo oggettino, effettivamente un gran dilemma se non si conosce la filosofia di LG nell'uso di DAC dedicati sui propri smartphone: il problema principale è che il 99% dei clienti che hanno acquistato questo DAC/AMP non faranno altro che collegarlo al telefono per poi inserire le cuffie. Fine. Differenze con un'ascolto senza di esso? Nessuna. Per percepire la vera differenza in qualità audio e potenza di volume erogato dovrete usare gli stessi "trucchi" che gli utenti di LG V10, V20 e V30 usano per attivare l'amplificatore all'interno del DAC dedicato: SOLO in questo modo riuscirete ad accorgervi dell'enorme valore racchiuso in questi miseri 30 euro, valore paragonabile a quello di Audioquest Dragonfly Red. Anzi, HiFi Plus consuma anche meno batteria. - - - I TRE LIVELLI DI POTENZA IN VOLUME - - - Per una questione di risparmio energetico, gli ingegneri di LG hanno deciso (intelligentemente) di suddividere in 3 livelli le prestazioni dei DAC/AMP dedicati nei propri smartphone, suddivisione valida anche per LG HiFi Plus usato in standalone. I livelli e i requisiti per la loro attivazione sono i seguenti: Low Gain: connettendo cuffie da 4 a 50 Ohm di impedenza High Gain: connettendo un dispositivo audio non riconoscibile da LG HiFi Plus Max Gain: connettendo cuffie da 50 a 600 Ohm di impedenza Rispettivamente ai livelli sopra descritti, la potenza di volume in uscita varia al variare dei livelli attivati. Great value for the price. I love taking my G5 apart and attaching this module to get that extra sound and power that I want in my music. It's extremely portable and even comes with a carrying pouch and the module itself looks very nice on and off the G5. If ur into high audio quality I definitely recommend this as it works with many devices. Laptops, tablets, phones. Great product👌👌👌

Esta mañana he recibido el módulo HiFi del B&O para mi LG G5 y, estoy probándolo con archivos mp3 a 320 kbps con unos veteranos auriculares Hi-End Sony MDR-CD6 y, el sonido es espectacular. El LG G5 no se caracteriza por una excesiva calidad de sonido, pues otros smartphones, incluso más antiguos como el HTC One M9 o el HTC Evo 3D tienen mucha mejor calidad de sonido. Sin embargo, al conectar este módulo la cosa cambia radicalmente. La diferencia es apreciable incluso con auriculares normales, pero cuando realmente se disfruta es al conectar el módulo y unos auriculares de alta fidelidad. Aún tengo que probar a conectar el módulo a un PC porque también es compatible con otros dispositivos a través de cable USB (incluido). Cuando lo haga, ampliaré la reseña. Añado un comentario más que me parece muy importante y que leí en un foro. Cuando se conectan los auriculares, habitualmente pone "Dispositivo de audio normal". El sonido es, en los auriculares, algo mejor que el sonido que trae el móvil en el conector ordinario, pero nada del otro jueves. Sin embargo, para disfrutar al máximo del dispositivo hay que usar un adaptador de 3,5 mm a 6,3 mm (o un cable alargador de 3,5 mm a 3,5mm) para "activar" el DAC del HiFi Plus. El procedimiento para "activar" el sonido espectacular es el siguiente: 1. Conectar el adaptador (o el alargador anteriormente mencionado) SIN CONECTAR LOS AURICULARES al conector del HiFi Plus. Conectar SOLO el adaptador. 2. Una vez que el HiFi Plus reconoce que "algo" se ha conectado, entonces conectar los auriculares al adaptador. Si se conectan los auriculares al adaptador y se conecta al conector del HiFi Plus SIN respetar el orden anterior, aparecerá en la pantalla "Dispositivo de audio normal" y en la configuración de sonido: "Para el modo de 32 bit HiFi DAC, conecte un dispositivo de audio". El sonido no es el óptimo. Es similar al del teléfono. Si se hace correctamente siguiendo los pasos indicados antes, en los ajustes del HiFi Plus pondrá: "Hay un dispositivo de audio externo conectado" y, ya se puede disfrutar de todas las funcionalidades del HiFi Plus. En resumen: espectacular.

Öncelikle cihazın ses kalitesi gerçekten çok çok iyi. Fiyatının çok üzerindeki cihazlarla rekabet edecek seviyede.Bu DAC'ın hakkını verebilecek kulaklık/hoparlör ile kullandığınız zaman öncelikle ses çok berraklaşıyor. Basslar toparlanıyor ve daha tatlı oluyor. Uğuldayan basslardan kurtuluyorsunuz. Tizler daha ayrıntılı ve vokaller çok daha temiz oluyor. Genel olarak enstrüman ayrımını ve ses detayını çok iyi hale getiriyor. Buraya kadar tamam. Bu cihazı nerelerde kullanabilirsiniz; LG G5 telefonunuzda, bilgisayarda, cep telefonunuzda vs vs. Bilgisayar için Windows 10 üzerinde stabil çalışan bir sürücüsü yok ve sürücü olmadan bu cihazı kullanamıyorsunuz. Eski sürücüsü 2016 yılından kalma ve sürücüyü bulması çok zor. Sürücüyü kurup cihazı çalıştırsanız bile bilgisayarı her açıp kapatışınızda cihazı tekrar çıkarıp takmak ve açılmasını sağlamak gerekiyor. Android telefonumda cihaz yanında gelen TypceC-MicroUSB kablo ile OTG çıkışından kullanabildim. Ancak özellikle Spotify'da nerdeyse dakikada bir anlık olarak ses bi gidip geliyor. Bu gibi aşırı can sıkan ve insanı uğraştıran olumsuzluklarından dolayı cihazı iade ettim. Düzgün sürücüsü olarak müthiş kaliteli bir dac çipine sahip bir cihaz aslında.
