TT 120 works well
These work perfect in my new TT120 layout. Easy to fit

Nice but expensive
Easy enough to mount and wire, but a bit tricky to connect to the point tie bar - you have to tease the actuator arm out and fiddle about to attach the little hole to the lug on the tie bar - often as not the actuator disappears back inside. Recommend using the screws provided, but do not overtighten as this can easily compress the action so that motor won't move the points. The gap that the motor actuator works through is very narrow and has no tolerance; if the point and motor are not perfectly horizontally aligned, the lug on the tie bar will bump against the slot in the motor housing and either won't go in or come out reliably. If you get them both flat, tends to work fine. Find that they do better with a CDU and on 16volt AC. Seem very reliable once you've got a good free movement arranged and they are essential if you've got point work on bridges or on overpass sections where there's no room to mount points beneath the baseboard. Also good option if you don't want to cut holes in the baseboard, or can't face grubbing around underneath it. Very pricey though.

Not exactly the prettiest for a highly detailed model layout but discreet and does the job.
Good little point motors with a decent snap action. Being surface mount like the real thing they look fairly decent on a base board next to a set of points. Unlike the other type Hornby point motor that can be mounted in a line side shed, these can be placed on the curved side of a set of points without the risk of long coaches rubbing up against them - everything I have simply goes over the top of them. Positoning on the board has to be absolutely spot on or they will get stuck and if you screw them down too tight, they'll get stuck. Wires could be considered a bit short and a bit flimsy so be careful. The insulation on the wires seems to be some kind of silicone so it's very soft and doesn't seem to strip back to a nice edge but I was able to strip the wires using my finger nails alone with no tools. I use these with a DCC Concepts 8-way universal solenoid point decoder on default setting and it seems to work very well. It can throw all 8 outputs at the same time.

too short
Product works, simple, wires are too short and too thin gauge, must be better on market standard hornby, take a look at competitors, all Chinese, not all the same to use why?

Nice units if you take your time and care
These are great units but you do need to take care when fixing down the unit and stripping the wires. All my track is built up on foam so I used cardboard shims until the position and operation was right I then glued the whole lot down to the base board, for stripping the wires I just use my finger nail and solder the joint screw terminals I found cut through the fine wire to easily. I also use a high power CDU and a 24V power supply for point motors. One other tip is be sure all the points etc are working perfectly before fixing anything or landscaping, seen it so many times people rush ahead then find something is not working and it all has to be pulled up !!

I like using these for model railway. They are small, and fit in between track. These are good for any model railway.
