A great starter for the price
Skipped the first few pages as I can already read music so I cannot comment on whether this section was any good. Wish there had been more info on how to actually play the harmonica but managed to play a tune within just a few minutes. Shame there is nothing on warming up the instrument before playing it or care of the instrument - all pretty important I would have thought. Nice selection of tunes to try at the end but too many Xmas songs for my liking. Very, very useful to have the listen to and play along CD. Pity notation doesn't show blow and draw arrows like most books - it shows a circle around the hole number instead to distinguish between blow and draw which is probably easier to follow for beginners but I now have to re-programme my brain for all the other books I have bought. Summary - def worth buying at the price to get going on the harp.

Absolutely!
A superb book for the ABSOLUTE beginner. The book is well laid out with the tunes in both musical notation and harmonica tablature. There are also great pictures of the Harmonica Greats - John Mayall, Roger Daltry, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen etc., etc., etc. The book also comes with a CD of the tunes covered in the book.Highly recommended.Hymns for Harmonica: Diatonic, Cross-Harp, ChromaticThis Harmonica Is for "You": A Complete Harmonica Tablature Method from Basic to Advanced : Featuring the Tab-Slide-Guide

Basic beginners book
Not a very thick book but covers the basics to get started and has some nice tunes in, never did like Jingle Bells but it is simple to play. and while I can read music the pages on reading music will be a good primer. For speed of learning they have numbers on the holes and this is written below the notes on the music but I would recommend learning the music notation as soon as possible it makes it much easier in the long run. The play along audio is a great help.
