I want to report a very serious accident that happened to me with your Telesteps Attic/loft ladder model T1000L. I bought it in March 2013 and used it about once a week. Last week in early November when I began to put the stairs away, the two vertical metal arms that hold the two powerful springs broke at the black plastic hinge area and the two vertical metal bars, the horizontal bar and the two springs flew through my bedroom hitting several walls and the ceiling, creating deep impact marks in the walls and ceiling. The fact that I didn't get hurt is a miracle, considering the power of the flying objects. I want you to know that if anyone like my 1 and 4 years old grand children at the time had been around with me when the ladder spring unit broke, it would have been a very serious injury, even death. My personal judgement is that it is not well manufactured. The fact that the two metal bars holding those powerful springs are held by an obvious weak plastic part is a poor choice in material by the builder, considering it was not an inexpensive ladder. I want to send what happened to the company Telesteps.net

The overall idea is great, but I expected it to be a little more sturdy. It is very unstable to ascend and descend. Since this is only for occasional use, it will serve the purpose, but the stability should be improved on.

The instructions for installation are absolutely brutal and miss many major points. The product doesn’t come with a door at all which is a huge problem. It cost me more in hardware/labor for the door than it did for this product. The ladder works good but wow would I never recommend to anyone. Installation is extremely customized and incredibly dangerous. The spring flew off twice almost hurting me badly.

Easy to install and use, but it still feels like a slightly unstable ladder. I bought it as a replacement for the cheap 20 year old builder's stair I had in my house destroyed by a 300 pound hvac guy. It will have to do. A really good stair installed by someone else would have cost 3-4 times as much.
