DeWalt DT20717-QZ Multi-Tool Carbide Grout Removal Blade

Used this to lift three loose tiles on an old kitchen floor. Perfect tool for removing the grout and cleaning off the original tile adhesive. Worked very well at low speed making the job more pleasurable .Zero signs of wear to the blade, looking forward to finding more projects I can use it on.

Good tools, quality

I volunteered to change the grout in my folks shower and needed a blade to fit my Dewalt multi tool. I have had specialist grout remover blades previously but only as part of a larger variety pack so only needed a couple this time around. This is a Dewalt branded blade specially for grout removal so I gave it a whirl. The Good - For once its black rather than stainless steel, as well as looking extremely cool hopefully this means it won't rust, and it hasn't yet. It fits perfectly into place with a satisfying click and isn't stiff to change position like some non Dewalt blades have been in the past. Build quality is sound, its stong and stiff with the Tungsten Carbide coating feeling nice and chunky and abrasive. The coating does its job very quickly and efficiently, tearing into the grout with ease. I had no issues using this, the blade seems to have plenty more life in it yet. The could be better - I have marked this down a star for one reason, its pretty difficult to clean. I had to stop start a few times to clean grout away, it could have been that unfortunately I was cutting into damp and wet grout, hence the need to change it, it most probably was. But I ended up with a dishwashing brush giving it a scrub quite a few times ove the course of the job. Not a big issue and as said maybe because of moisture in the old grout. Overall I would highly recommend this blade, looks great, cuts fantastically well, requires a good clean when in use. Four Stars.

Great and effective blade. Durable too.

I wanted to remove a lot of tiles (190) whilst causing minimum damage to the underlying wall. I bought this tool to remove the grout. Though the tiles had been on the wall for about 30 years, it was like a knife through butter. All of the grout removed, the tiles came away easily. No plastering required for the replacement tiles. I think it would be good for another 190 tiles. I highly recommend it.

Satisfactory, except that an ancillary metal part is provided with no explanation and that part is fixed to paper card with sticky tape. The tape adhesive is not easily removed, even using isopropyl alcohol, so the part remains sticky. I discarded it. The paper card shows a part number but is otherwise merely a list of the supplier's different products, as if to say "figure out which of these this is and don't expect any instructions". A product with no instructions does not deserve more than three stars.

Much more robust than cheaper multi packs, was cleaning out cement grouting and this lasted longer than 3 packets of others I bought off amazon

I've used it for cutting wodden battens, yeah, it worked well and got the job done
