Great set of 14" knitting needles in multiple sizes. The variety of sizes gives versatility for whatever project you are working on. These are made from aluminum, which has the tendency to bend over time with usage, however they are great for starting out at a great price and are easily replaced over time at a low cost. With great care, will last you a really long time or until you can get a more sturdier set. I've used these type of knitting needles for a long time and they work very well with various types of yarn.

I bought my first pair of Boye needles over 15 years ago, at a yard sale, from a woman in her 70’s. And I still have them. The tips are worn off, my dog has chewed them up, they’ve travelled back and forth to the cottage, and they have knitted hundreds of baby sweaters, blankets, wall hangings and toys. It’s hard to find the brand where I live, and I was blessed to find these on Amazon! Time to hang up my old needles and knit with the new ones 🥰 They aren’t good for everything obviously. They’re anodized steel, so they’re great for yarns that have a lot of grip and tend to slide. But if you need more grip because you want to knit with ribbons or some other kind of slippery yarn, it’s better to use bamboo or rubber. Also if you want to take them on a flight, they are more likely to accept plastic or bamboo needles and they would have to be much shorter than these ones. I knit with chopsticks or kids (10”) needles when I travel. They are also very long. Excellent for big projects but tiring if you are knitting because you have arthritis and not great if you’re knitting in a small enclosed space or beside your husband who for some reason doesn’t like taking a knitting needle butt to the eye every time he tries to put his head on your shoulder. You might want to switch to shorter needles if you’re in love. Dogs chew these significantly less than plastic or rubber needles, and cats don’t care to snack on them at all. The dogs will chew your plastic, the cats will eat your bamboo, and 15 years later when you’re on Amazon trying to decide which needles to buy you’re just going to be over here like “I’ll just replace the only ones that survived. Seems sensible. If only future you could recommend a set of needles right now 😉

If you’re looking for 14” straight aluminum knitting needles, it’s hard to go wrong with these. They’re smooth, slippery, and lightweight - which is great if that’s what you’re looking for. This package includes the 3 most common sizes for knitting worsted-weight yarn at an excellent price for Boye needles.
