Q: My Dermatologist prescribed this, but the active ingredient is just Petroletum-(Vaseline). What is special about that?

Well, I can't speak for the ingredients, but I can tell you that after I had CO2 laser on my eye area that is the only thing that calmed the area down. In the winter when my fingers cracked at the tips, it was the only thing that would soften to cracks up enough to heal. I'm sure if you wanted to use only Vaseline I'm sure that would eventually work, but I'd use aquaphor in the future because a) it was recommended by my dermatologist and b) I know it works.

Yes, but the date varies from bottle to bottle. It's usually a year of so.
