I reviewed Cartier's Declaration Essence some time ago, and while I liked it, I thought that the spicy / woody aroma was too dominant and gave the whole scent an odd whiff of tobacco. It's still a nice fragrance, but not one that I would wear too often, and even then only in small doses and for fairly specific events. An every-day scent it was not.That spicy / woody aroma is still evident in this, the Cologne version, but it has been ramped down massively, making the fragrance much more palatable. Cartier has also added a very apparent zesty combination of orange, mandarin and bergamot, very similar to any number of fragrances you'll find out there. Some might say it's a little too similar, in fact, because without the aroma that I was so unsure about in Essence, this would be yet another `sporty' (see citrus) scent vying for attention. But I have to admit that this aroma does give Declaration Cologne an upper hand that others lack and makes it much more unique than it otherwise might have been.Declaration Cologne, in spite of its name, could be considered very much a unisex fragrance, as it has elements that wouldn't be out of place used by either a man or a woman. Even the box it comes in gives little away when it comes to who this could be for, and I doubt that anyone, regardless of their sex, would think this in appropriate. Some have also said that Declaration Cologne is a summer scent, and while this is mostly true, I don't think it would seem out of place at pretty much any other time of the year.

I LOVE THIS COLOGNE, MY HUSBAND GAVE ME ONE OF THIS IN 2011 AT THE CARTIER STORE AND I LOVE IT, AND THE SALESMAN SAID IT IS UNISEX, SO I TRIED TO FIND IT EVERYWHERE BUT IT IS DISCONTINUED, UNTIL I FOUND IT IN AMAZON, AND I BOUGHT 2, AND I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. :D

Falscher Artikels geliefert! Andere Verpackung, andere Aufschrift, anderer Duft! Cartier ja aber das ist auch schon alles! Schade, sollte ein Geschenk für meine Tochter sein, sie hatte sich den bestellten artikel gewünscht, hat den gelieferten geöffnet und ist enttäuscht!! Schade, ist ja auch nicht so ganz billig, da möchte man schon haben was man bestellt!! Mfg MK
