Fabulous read
I'm a big fan of the High Performance podcast having discovered it 2 months ago. I'm now caught up nearly with all episodes. So when I heard about the book coming out it was an essential read. Having read the book in its entirety I can safely say this was the best book I've read in 2021. Having struggled for motivation and focus in both my personal and professional life it provided me with the message I needed to drive forward and achieve. I'm a big believer in being 100% responsible for your own life and taking control of your reaction to a situation. Owning your problems and coming up with a solution. I found the pages about commitment culture fascinating, autocracy/bureaucracy cultures. I've worked in many organisations and it was fascinating to compare the different cultures I've worked under and as a future leader I took away some key nuggets from Tracey Neville, Rio Ferdinand and others about how winning cultures and team ethos are built. I will likely read this book two or three more times and apply what I've taken into my own life. I've recommended this book to all my friends and family and I would absolutely recommend anybody read this. Thank you guys for the amazing book and the podcast.

Best book I've read in 10 years
As someone who reads about 50-60 books a year, mostly on success, autobiographies, psychology, business and mindset (I'm boring, an accountant, a CFO actually with 50 investment properties so think it's working). Being too much of a geek to be in to sports so hadn't ever heard of Jake Humphrey and wasn't interested in the book until seeing Adam Peaty had a testimonial on the cover. As a former swimmer he is someone I do respect. From the first chapter it has been surprising how good the book actually is and how much content is in the book, all nice and clear, and it's not just repetition of what you can find elsewhere. Perhaps some is, but you'd need to read about 50 great books to get what is nicely distilled in this one amazing volume. The audiobook is particularly great, like listening to a conversation. It's easier to remain engaged if you listen while running or washing up.

Brimming with captivating content
I loved sports at schools. Team sports to be exact. But hated cross country running in the winter. I’m more a player than a watcher of sports. I bought this book because I worked with Jake in his CBBC days. No, I didn’t make him dress up as a lobster. I’m a huge fan. Jake is the ultimate professional. He came to set prepared and ready to have fun. I trust him and love his work ethic. I can only guess the amount of effort he put into this book. This review won’t be bias I haven’t seen Jake in almost 18 years. I’ve retired, so I’m not looking for a job! But I feel motivated to start a new hobby after reading this book.High Performance is brimming with captivating content. It’s logical and concise. Many books in this genre go round the houses and you learn nothing. I was inspired by the stories from sports and business people. I wish I was back leading a team. I might get it right this time.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to reach their full potential. I’d bet money that you’ll feel engaged through out and motivated at the end. I’m off to listen to the podcast for the first time.

Great book
I was prompted to read this as a great read with all the podcasts as a form of reference. The book goes through high level performance and how it can impact on work and life in your own life. Obviously both authors have spoken at lengths to their subjects and the lessons are portrayed in great details. It is not deep in difficult aspects of psychology. The one thing I would say for kindle readers is the 80% content of the book, the rest is acknowledgements, references and bibliographies no issues with that

Multiple ways to improve, in one tidy tome.
As someone who lives just up the road from Jake Humphrey I thought I should buy this, it's always good to support local business :)Read it cover to cover in two days, which is saying something as I don't have a lot of free time at this time of year. Lots of things to take from this, if you're even vaguely introspective about how you live your life then you'll find something to take from here to increase your chances of hitting your goals - and you can't put a price on that. Well - maybe you can, but if it's less than the price of this book then your goals are probably pretty small, or related to not reading any new books. All in all, very much worth it, and it will be read again in 12 months or less. So thank you, almost-neighbour!

How to live life, the book to give everyone
Having found Jake & Damians podcast during lockdown, continually learning much from each episode, it being a jumping off point of thoughts about my own direction and progression & recommending it to many friends, I felt I had to support them and buy the book (also because Jake is a local lad & I won't stop being proud of his achievements).I gifted it to my parents hoping they would appreciate it as it's Jake as well as an interesting subject (& more palatable to them than podcasts) & expecting it would work its way back to my bookshelf once read as all our good reads do.... Well I might have a fight on my hands in this case!In the first short sitting my mum asked how many copies I'd bought, as everyone needs one as their guide on how to live life. There may not be enough copies for how many people it's going to get recommended to once she gets further in & finishes it!
