PEUGEOTBistro 10 cm Salt and Pepper Mill Set - Classic Grind System - Olive Wood - Lifetime Guaranteed Mechanism - Made in France - Black and White

I got this for a very good price, for what it is. My mum absolutely loved it. Please note this is not like the taller version that allows you to regulate the grinding level with precision – this one is regulated with the knob as usual.

So the aesthetics is gorgeous - the top tightening knobs feel like [they may be] pewter. Grinds very well. the tightening knobs do tend to slacken a little but a quick check and [if needed] tighten after each use is [for me] part of the ceremony. The salt and pepper grind nice and finely. Like I said, I'm going to get another set for the kitchen keeping these for the dining table. (as a side, I previously bought the le creuset set for I think £70 but I didn't get on with them so I gave them to charity and in the meantime made do with the "Barts" supermarket spice aisle mills...that is until now)

Very disappointing product. Very expensive so you expect an excellent grind of salt and pepper but they never really worked as well as much cheaper versions we had already. The salt never seemed to grind properly at all, and now a bit more than a year later, the wood has cracked. This is looking like a shoddy product with none of the original quality of the brand. Avoid.

My partner and I were lucky enough to attend a wedding at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saison and as well as the amazing food, we were (oddly one might say!) impressed with the Peugeot salt and pepper shakers. So we immediately decided to replace our cheap plastic ones with these (although we couldn't afford to proper silver plated ones we used at Le Manoir!). The only downside for us is that they are very small and given the amount of seasoning we like on and in our food, we are constantly having to fill them up. As a result, they are only for the table, and we've kept the plastic ones to use in cooking... problem solved!

I bought these mills on the recommendation of previous reviews, but have not felt so positive about them: being Peugeot I thought they would be fantastic, as my friend has larger versions which work incredibly well. These, however, are rather coarse and I keep having to alter the top screw to make it work better. They look lovely and do work - albeit not to the standard I had hoped.Update: Really disappointed with these as they continue to give a very coarse end product - sometimes the salt has not even been ground at all!!

I purchased because I have had such positive experiences with Peugeot in Europe and these looked a stylish and compact small set. Unfortunately they are greatly inferior in use to those which I have been accustomed to. Both mills tend to require constant adjusting to get the right grind because the coarseness adjustment and the screw to tighten the top are the same. Sadly the quality of the parts is poor and the screw doesn't stay in one position it screws/unscrews as the mill is turned to grind the salt or pepper. Further the pressed steel grinding parts seem to fail to grip and frequently clog up particularly with the salt. All in all an inferior product and most disappointing from Peugeot.

These are really cute and look super stylish at the dining table. The only downside is that they’re quite small so need refilling relatively frequently but that doesn’t detract from how well they work.

A well made product. Easy to use, looks good and feels sturdy.
