At Carnegie Hall

Nina Simone Is one of my favorite's and has been for years. When I am in my Nina mood, I listen to her CDs all day. She is a timeless wonder.

I actually attended this concert and had the privilege of meeting Ms. Simone backstage. I owned the original LP until it wore out. This CD brings back very fond memories.

Its a good 'album' as they were when I got my first in the sixties. Nina is always in style.

What can you say about Nina Simone that hasn't already been said. "Nice"

I saw her @least twice @ the Village Gate in the early 60's And what else can I say? The title above says it all.

Sans doute un des enregistrements live le plus intimiste et introspectif de Nina Simone. Une interprétation voix et piano qui sent "la tripe", tantôt gospel, tantôt blues, tantôt fado,... servi par un accompagnement discret à la hauteur de la voix.Qualité de la restitution trés correcte.Ici on est loin de certains enregistrements plus commerciaux...

È impossibile non innamorarsi di questo album, nonostante le imperfezioni audio tipiche della registrazione dal vivo piuttosto "datata". Pezzi come "If You Knew" e "The Other Woman" non possono mancare nella discografia essenziale di chiunque. In questi due CD è riproposto il concerto in edizione integrale (un tempo diviso in due album: "Live at Carnegie Hall", corrispondente al CD 1 di questa raccolta e "Folksy Nina", qui presente nel secondo CD). Una nota tecnica per i collezionisti: la versione che io ho ricevuto non è distribuita da EMI/Universal bensì da Warner, poiché l'etichetta Colpix/Parlophone è attualmente distribuita da quest'ultima.

This is a clear audio vinyl (meaning not coated in black and is transparent) and sounds amazing. The vinly has so much clarity and no static noise. Ingenious to not have it coated in black. The performance and recording is oustanding and dare I say the artist at her best. Clearly Nina Simone always wanted to perform at a top stage and see takes the opportunity. This type of performance has to be enjoyed on an LP.

カーネギー・ホールでのニーナ・シモン、６４年のライヴです。流れてくるシンプルな音の向こうに、端然とステージに佇むニーナ・シモンの姿が浮かび上がってくるような作品です。そのあまりにも深い歌声に包まれていると、一日の疲れが静かに浄化されていくのをいつも感じさせられます。ただ、日本人には「ＳＡＹＯＮＡＲＡ」はすこしきついような気もしますが。

Musica dall'Olimpo. Arrangiamenti meravigliosi. Incisione straordinaria. Bella confezione doppia con aggiunta di brani.Atmosfera di rapimento assoluto.Fragile Nina, tu non ci sei più ma noi ti sentiamo ancora..
