This sunscreen has been such a great switch from traditional, chemical-based options! I was specifically looking for a cleaner, more skin-conscious formula, and this one really delivers with its simple, non-toxic ingredients. One of the biggest concerns I usually have with mineral sunscreens is the white cast from zinc oxide, but this formula blends in surprisingly well. It leaves only a very minimal cast that quickly fades, making it much more wearable for everyday use. It layers smoothly without feeling heavy. Overall, it feels breathable, gentle on my skin, and gives me peace of mind knowing I’m using a healthier alternative without sacrificing performance.

Love this product. No breakouts and the sparkles are just the right amount. This is my number 1 sunscreen and I live in the mountains of Colorado!

I’m very particular about sunscreen—I check ingredients, white-cast, and whether it stings in water. This one passes all those checks, which is great. The only downsides are that my boys aren’t fans of the shimmery finish it leaves on the face, and it does sting a bit when they go in the water. I don’t think the shimmer would be an issue for girls, though. Overall, it’s effective and safe, just a matter of personal preference for appearance and water comfort.

Great product! Is comfortable to wear on my face. Is absorbed within minutes. Does not feel sticky nor does it leave a white film, like some sunscreens do.

I've been using Mad Hippie products for awhile now. I use the hydrating and luminizing SPF lotions which I basically reapply every time I go outside - which is pretty much all day. They're light and invisible. I wanted a sunscreen with a higher SPF though, so ordered this one. I have very dry, older skin so no problem with oilier products. This one is definitely oilier than the other MH sunscreens. If you are prone to breakouts, you might want to go for one of the other sunscreens. Also, The ingredients tend to separate in the tube, so you must give it a vigorous shake before putting it on. It's creamy and goes on smoothly. I don't notice a white cast at all. For me, the best sunscreen is the one you don't mind reapplying throughout the day and Mad Hippie fits the bill.

I’ve been on a quest to completely convert to mineral sunscreen and have tried several. Unfortunately this one did not work for me - it’s think and hard to spread which means it is hard to rub in enough to get rid of any skin discoloration. I have fair skin and I could definitely see a slight white cast even after rubbing in as much as possible. Also I hated the way it felt on my skin, weirdly dry and sticky on my skin at the same time. I’ll use this for stuff like gardening but it’s not going to be my go to for the beach or pool. So far of the ones I have tried I like the Eleven by Venus Williams spf 50 body lotion the best and am also liking the EltaMD AOX spray spf 40.

I like Tula’s “protect and glow probiotic SPF”, but don’t like the ingredients, so I went on a search for a good, cleaner dupe. This is perfect! The right amount of ‘glow’ without being obnoxiously shimmery or glittery. Not drying nor oily. I have acne prone skin in my T-zone and I’ve not noticed any breakouts. It’s my go-to daily SPF now!

Does anyone really like applying sunscreen? Not I. But approaching my 30's, I'm starting to see evidence of why it's important. I use Mad Hippie's cult favorite Vitamin C serum and love it, so figured I'd give their SPF a try. It has mica in it, so though it initially pales your skin when applied, once it sets in and the mica crystals start shining, it gives you a nice warm glow that I got compliments on from friends who asked if I put on bronzer. Nope, just sunscreen! It goes on fairly smoothly - not as easy as a spray suncreen or a thinner formula but it's not bad (much smoother than Supergoop!) The only issue for me is the sun protection, it's definitely a reapply situation if you are sitting outside for hours in the Texas sun or swimming. I'd be very careful using this sunscreen for anything more than daily protection. That being said, this one's a keeper and worth the money for sure. I'm going to reorder!
