Sushi Made Simple: From classic wraps and rolls to modern bowls and burgers

Great book for a keen beginner. This was my first foray in to Sushi making and the simply laid out detailed recipes in this book made it easy to understand what I was doing.Would recommend to anyone looking to get in to Sushi making.

First, I have to say that I'm not a cook, and have no ability in that direction. I've only had to start cooking in my 6th decade due to a bereavement. Until now my efforts have kept me alive and more or less healthy, but they certainly haven't been things of beauty.Then, on a whim, I bought a book called 'Japaneasy'. And discovered that unlike OTHER 'easy' cookbooks, this one enabled me to make food that was healthy, tasty, and even LOOKED good.So this one, "Sushi Made Simple" was my second purchase, along with another called 'The Sushi Bible'. The Sushi Bible was thin, cheap looking, and had no illustrations whatsoever. it went into the bin.But this one? It's a lovely book. Both the 'methods' and the end results are beautifully illustrated, and all the recipes are 100% 'do-able'. Quite honestly, if you're looking for a book on Sushi making, I think this is THE one to get.Highly recommended.

Pretty good. Lots of information about sushi making, the ingredients you need, how to roll, how to choose fish ect! Wish there was less of the "sushi burgers" ect and more recipes for sushi rolls, but other than that it's really informative.

I love this book, clearly written from a great chef. It’s full of insights, from how to recognise the freshest fish, to preparing sauces and state of the art sushi! It's exceptionally clear and well written. Lots of practical, detailed, very useful advice and GREAT recipes (both traditional and new!). I learned a lot and discovered it is really easy to make mouthwatering sushi with this book! There’s also a very good Vegetarian and Vegan section. Cannot get enough of it. Great present for friends and family too as it comes with a hard cover and design/pictures/presentation are excellent.

Simple information ,great photos makes sushi fantastically uncomplicated.

Unfortunately, I gave this book as a gift to somebody else. I wish I had got one for myself. Even a short read through before I wrapped it showed me that this is a winner of a book.Very high production values in the text and illustrations combine to make this a book for anyone first-timing sushi making, as also plenty of "next-steps" or more challenging craftings of sushi to follow.A little bit of background information about materials and history, and a bit more greater detail that describes the components and ingredients are the absolute right mix for a novice to learn about this cultural food.The presentation of this food is given strong emphasis throughout, with many helpful pointers how you might realise this after you have got the cooking and making correct.A lovely book that leaves me with a difficult choice: Do I pretend to buy it for my wife's birthday, or just get it for myself. I will not be able to wait until my own birthday - and certainly not until Xmas of 2023 to ask for it.It gives you the inspiration
