BOOXTab X Case

This is far too expensive for what it is but it's really the only case available for the Tab X that fits as a slim-line cover. Just factor it in as an unavoidable extra if you are investing in the (most excellent) Boox Tab X.

This case/cover is similar to those supplied by Apple for its iPad range but is woefully short of Apple's quality and utility. Described as leather-like, it honestly feels more akin to dead flesh - slightly rubbery and clammy to the touch.Functionality-wise it falls short again. There are two slim magnets attached to the inside of the cover, but they have no purpose with the Tab X. They may do with other of Boox's products however.Further, folding the cover into a Toblerone (triangular prism for those unacquainted with the chocolate confection) shape to act as a stand is fiddly. It only works as such when the pen holder is sandwiched between the cover and the back of the device, creating a gap at the bottom as seen in Boox's own photographs. This is somewhat counter-intuitive. Folding the pen holder behind the cover causing no gap - the logical thing to do - results in a slow collapse flat onto the desk.Overall the case/cover comes as a disappointment after the quality of the device itself and in no way justifies the £58+ price in the UK. My advice would be to wait for the third-party accessories market (are you listening Torro, Targus et al?) to come up with something better.
