These boots are fantastic. They are durable, lightweight, and mobile
These boots are Phenomenal! Especially for the price. The sizing is perfect(at least it was for me). Just the zippers alone are of very nice quality, let alone the rest of the boots themselves. I have pretty wide feet, and the wide sizing couldn't have been better! I wore them Airsofting, and they could not have been better. I almost twisted my ankle on a little dip while running, but the boots are just firm enough that they kept my ankles aligned and saved me from a very painful twist. But they are not so firm that it's hard to move quickly. They are quite durable as well. They are not waterPROOF, but I would argue they are water resistant. I stomped in a deep puddle and only felt the slightest bit of moisture enter, which was better than I expected!

Best boots ever! Burning Man approved.
Got these boots kind of last minute with plan to wear at Burning Man. I was interested in the zipper option for quick in and out as we don't do shoes in our dwelling. I had a different pair of boots that I just couldn't get broken in after months so about 2 weeks before leaving for the burn I ordered these Free Soldier boots. They were immediately comfortable out of the box, coming with a removable insert I left in, and I had opportunity to wear them on several ~2 mile dog walks with no issues with rubbing. At the burn, I wore these boots for 10+ hrs/day for the 10 days we were there and never had a single foot issue - no rubbing, no blisters, no foot cramps, no hot spots. We arrived early to help our camp with build and these felt protective while working with heavy equipment. They are also pretty lightweight, and the zipper maintained excellent functionality throughout, never getting bogged down by playa dust. We walked thousands of steps and biked tons of miles, and these boots kept my feet protected and comfortable. I'm a women's size 9, I ordered these in men's size 7.5 and they fit great with merino wool socks. I personally also think they're stylish enough and you can't beat the price point. Can't wait for BM2026 to give these another go. Highly recommend!

Going on my 2nd pair!
I’ve been wearing Free Soldier boots for a while now, and they’ve been one of the best values I’ve found in work footwear. Sizing is spot on — I order my regular shoe size (10.5) and they fit exactly as expected. The zipper quality is solid, and I really like the easy quick zip-up design. It saves time and makes them super convenient to get on and off. I do foundation work and other heavy jobs that are very hard on boots, and these usually last me 6–8 months. That’s about double the lifespan I’ve gotten from other brands in the same price range. Overall shoe quality is good, and they hold up better than I expected for the cost. The only small downside I noticed was that the heel on my second pair felt stiffer than the first. That said, it broke in quickly and wasn’t a long-term issue. On top of the durability and comfort, I also like the combat-style look of these boots. They have a rugged, tactical style that works great on the job but also looks sharp off the clock. Overall, these boots are a great mix of comfort, durability, convenience, and value. I’ll keep buying them as long as Free Soldier keeps making them like this PICTURES INCLUDE: my new pair vs my old pair 8 months of hard use finally made the choice to get a new pair because dirt was starting to get under the sole but in comparison to other boots I’ve gotten they held up so much longer and better)

READ THE DESCRIPTION, IF YOU HAVE SKINNY FEET, GO A SIZE DOWN
My only real gripe is partially my own fault for not reading the description in its entirety down to the VERY LAST LINE. It clear as day says that if you have skinny/narrow feet that you should order a size down for a better fit. If I had read that I would have gotten a 12 instead of my usual 13. Even still after lacing they still fit decently enough to keep. Even with that, pretty comfortable even before break-in. Laces are easy, ankle support is good, nice texture, color and look pretty decent on the outside. Quality is pretty ideal for the price point. Can’t get a whole lot cheaper, but they could be way less comfortable. No input on durability yet, but the build seems nice, doesn’t feel cheap. I’m on my feet 12-14 hours a day and travel 5+ miles any given day so I’ll update my review after some time has passed.

Really great quality, for a really low price.
I am a UPS driver. I walk 20,000 to 25,000 steps per day. It is really hard to find shoes that can survive the abuse my job puts on them. I recently decided to switch from normal walking shoes to boots because I have bad ankles. I am always scared to spend too much on shoes, because I have never found any shoe, at any price, that lasted more than six months. The last pair of boots I had were twice the price of these ones, and the entire sole peeled off after 3 weeks, but these had good reviews, and were very reasonably priced, so I decided to give them a go. (The dark brown ones). Straight out of the box they were probably the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. I thought I was going to have to break them in for a while, but that was no problem. Also, the ankle support is superb. After a month, or two, each shoe started to show a small gap between the sole and the shoe near the ball of my foot. But I put a tiny bit of shoe glue in there, and it hasn't been a problem again. Right now, I have been wearing them every day for 3 months (or at least 1.3 Million steps), and they seem like they will probably make it another 3, at least. That's probably about as much as you can reasonably ask for boots that were under $70. One other note: they are supposed to be waterproof, but I haven't really had a chance to test that out here through the bone-dry, Salt Lake City summer months. But if they last into the winter, I will give an update on that. Update: The total durability wound up being about 7-8 months, or about 3 million steps. And, even at seven months they were still waterproof. They could have probably gone another month even, but the soles were getting pretty thin, and I decided to get a new pair for winter. I ended up getting the dark black this time, which seems to hold up better in terms of appearance. They were not as comfortable, out of the box, as the dark brown ones were, but still pretty comfortable, and broke in quickly. Also, whereas the brown ones seemed very breathable, and cool; the black ones seem to be much warmer, so they work out better for the cold weather, and snow.

Super comfy, true to fit and actually waterproof
I am 5'8, 160lb and I bought these shoes for my bugout bag, I got a size 9 and they fir perfect, super comfy and true to fit. These boots are much more comfortable than I expected. I can't attest to the durability of the boot just yet as I just got them. They are waterproof as advertised, I haven't fully submerged the full 8 inches but trudging in this puddle for 30 mins my feet did not get wet. For the price im giving these shoes 5 stars, they're much more comfortable than I imagined, fir perfectly and are actually water proof so for 60 bucks they are exceeding expectations. Great for a bug out bag, shtf bag or just an affordable waterproof tactical boot. I'd buy them again.

Great boots over all.
I owned my pair for 2 years now and they are still holding strong. They are very comfortable and feel closer to shoes than boots. I use these for work during the week and for hiking trips on the weekend. The laces have broke after a year but that’s okay. I tie the laces back together. They are not very heavy but durable. I’ve received compliments for the design and the tan color. And my veteran brothers think they look nice. Great boots over all and plan to buy another pair soon.
