FM - No Static at all!
Glad to have a copy of this double CD as it contains some great tracks from the 70's. I am also please as it has the full version of Steely Dan's title track (FM - No Static at all). I can't remember much about the film this comes from as it has been about 30 years since I saw it but can never forget the music used in it. Great music for a long journey in the car and well worth checking out if your musical taste is from the 70's

GREAT SOUNDTRACK WITH UNIQUE STEELY FM RECORDING.
This soundtrack compiles a great collection of songs. The Steely Dan FM track is unique as it has a WB guitar solo starting at 3.20 till the end of the track. All other SD compilations have that guitar sole replaced by a Sax solo, with the exception of the compilation ''The Definitive Collection'' released by Geffen Records in 2006. This collection has the guitar solo. The CITIZEN 4 CD Box has that extended sax solo not the extended guitar one.

Great snapshot of the era.
I've had this album on record (I refuse to call them vinyl) for 40 years, and bought this for the convenience of CD. Mostly good, although there are a few fillers. The highlight is Steely Dan's superb FM - probably my favourite record of all time. Here you get the proper version with the guitar solo and the separate Reprise which features the final sax solo. Most versions you hear on the radio have the Reprise spliced on the end in one of the worst edits in the history of recorded sound. Cruel and unusual punshment is too good for whoever was responsible.

The best soundtrack album of the 70s, by a country mile.
I purchased the album at the time of it's release, without ever bothering to even consider seeing the film (which I happened to catch on TV many years later, nothing worthy of an Oscar, apart from the great songs). The track listing is the [then] cream of the US 'West Coast' rock sound, headed by the magnificent Steely Dan, who wrote the excellent theme and reprise. The running order is so good, each track almost seems to compliment the next (and previous) song. The only two weak songs for me are by Linda Ronstadt, but that's very subjective, I'm just not a big fan of her vocals, however, the band are quite good, so even that has compensations.Always good to hear, especially when travelling - either belting out of the car speakers, or more sedately on headphones whilst on the train.

Very evocative for the era it was from. Well balanced album and enjoyable.

Perfect Gift
Brought as a gift, They asked if I would copy it from original LP vinyl as it was their all time favourite, available on Amazon & saved me copying something that wasn't going to be of this quality, everyone happy.
