Great keyboard, Great Company!!
Ok so earlier I had written a review that expressed a little bit of disappointment because the xCable that gives access to a sustain pedal, a midi out port and an expression input wasn't in the box with the xKey 37. Well, I have to write another review, because CME customer service turned out to be just fantastic. Not only do I love the xKey keyboard, but the company was kind enough to address my concerns and were very nice about it. I find this kind of customer service to be refreshing and something of a rarity these days. Not only is the xKey is a fabulous electronic musician and travel keyboard but, CME is also a customer relations dream. If you're making music on an iPad or laptop and like me, you're on the go? You won't be disappointed in the xKey keyboard! By the way...I'm a real customer and a real musician, not a fake promotional plant!

Strange Action, Great Response
Very responsive, does exactly what I need it to. The feel is more like a shallow typing keyboard than a synth keyboard, which could be a drawback for some. The aftertouch is even and accurate, which IMO more than makes up for the strange action, especially at this price point.

Keys feel very cheap. Bluetooth function isn't easy to setup. Looks nice.
I purchased this keyboard and ended up returning it. Visually, it looks great and the slim design is appealing. However, the overall build quality feels average at best about a 6/10. My main issue is the typing experience. The keys do not feel good to press and come across as very cheap, which is where an authentic Apple product clearly differentiates itself. For a $200 keyboard, the key quality is simply not acceptable. On top of that, I also had issues with the Bluetooth connection not working properly. Because of these factors, I didn’t feel the product justified its price and chose to return it.

Too Expensive...But Really Impressive
I think these things are wildly overpriced...but dang they're good. It's amazing how much velocity control you can get out of a key that's that thin, it easily fits in a backpack, and it has a pressure sensitive modulation button/pitch bend buttons/and even a sustain button that I've gotten pretty good with. It normally sits on my desk as a low profile midi keyboard for notation purposes, but is great for on the go demoing of things as well.

Great portability, but noisy keys and a crap usb connector
I like how it plays and feels... works for me expressively though I'd prefer a four octave version. The dealbreakers though are that the keys click noisily, so forget about having a mic nearby for vocals, it will sound like someone typing. And the dumbest thing is the micro usb connector -- within half year of low use, the thing is already starting to short. Why would they chose to put the most flimsy usb connector on a $200+ product? Especially on something portable? If you can deal with the noisy keys, get the bluetooth version, this version is just stupid.

As shipped this DOES NOT WORK WITH AN IPAD.

Very nice piece if you're thinking about sneaking a keyboard into a desk rollout tray
It's worked out very well for me. I've got small spaces, a lot of great plugins on my PC, and this fit my needs perfectly. I light the weight of it - small but substantial, feels durable and plays responsively.

Lovely... Just lovely!
I have a ton of midi controllers and this was a great addition. It's built like a tank and heavier than you'd expect but that's what gives it a serious feel. The keys feel and sound like old school macbook (2013-2014) keyboards. You know, before macbook turned to the super shallow keys. Which is absolutely great. It makes playing very quick and responsive yet not too shallow. It's very thin, sleek and professional looking.

Totalmente recomendable.

After a very few weeks use the micro usb socket is difficult to plug in to. The socket is too close up against the keyboard body., so no other cable can be used. The cable supplied is poor quality, I would like to use a micro usb - usb 3.1 c cable, but the body of the micro usb plug on most cables are more substantial than ghat on the cable provided and will not fit. Poor design. The keyboard appears robust. It has not failed yet. The key touch is not manual piano like - but I was not expecting that - but it is god enough to use for note input with Dorico / Sibelius / MuseScore etc. The octave shift buttons work well. I've not used the keyboard with a DAW (Cubase / Logic Pro etc) so cannot comment on the modulation and pitch bend buttons. As a keyboard that can pack in a bag to take anywhere so you can capture ideas whenever the creative juices flow - its ideal ( ideal for me).
