ABSOLUTE LIFE SAVER!!
We’ve always had trouble with the wall going up our stairs. Every time we paint or the weather turns cold, little air bubbles appear. We had dado rails and decided to pull them off BUT it took about 4/5 layers of paint with it so we then had no choice but to scrape and peel every single bit of paint off! We saw this as a blessing in disguise though as we’ve always wanted to go back to bare plaster to sort out the problem. We sanded and cleaned every area, after one coat, it was still doing it!! But this time the paint was scratching off by our finger nails too. So we had to re sand what we’d already done!! Nightmare! After researching, we came across ZINSSER GARDZ, we figured maybe there’s old wall paper paste on the walls as it’s an old house. Zinsser Gardz looks like watery milk but smells of rabbit wee! So I recommend opening windows and wearing a face mask. Also, don’t use a brush! It flys everywhere! Use a small foam roller. It dries like a glue and your wall will be shiny. After one coat of our desired paint we had no paint scratching off and no bubbling! After a few coats, it was perfect! We’ve finally got our walls back! It’s taken about a month of back and forthing and lots of tears but we got there in the end! Yay!

Messy but excellent primer/sealant
I used this product to seal our kitchen ceiling after removing wallpaper. It is very drippy and thin so if too much on the roller can be messy. On the plus side, it is very sheer and covers well. The finished ceiling looked flawlessly smooth and shiny. I highly recommend Guardz to prime and seal plasterboard ceilings and walls, especially in rooms where there is moisture and grease. I’ll definitely be using it to seal the tongue and groove walls in our guest bathrooms.

Excellent sealant for post wallpaper stripping
Brilliant stuff for sealing walls with wallpaper residue. It's got consistency like milk but dries clear.

Buy it now!
After watching so many people use this I gave it a go and wow! It paints / sprays in easily and makes painting your desired colour so much easier as it grips to the Gardz instead of ripping out any filler.

Excellent sealer
Used this to seal the walls of a large bedroom we had just stripped the wallpaper from. Painting it directly would have produced an awful finish and we didn’t want the expense of having the walls skimmed. It took 3 coats (probably could have got away with two), but the walls look great now painted. Any flakes of paint were smoothed and it provided a very stable surface to paint on. It’s very easy to apply and covers a lot with one tin. I did 3 coats of 13x14ft room with less than 5 litres. Brushes wash out really well with just water.
