Nice clean copy
Jubilees is a pseudopigraphical book which claims to be written by Moses. Historically, it's an interesting book. It is well-loved by Judaizers wished to bring Christians into the bondage of the Old Covenant. The pages are very nice and the book itself is a nice quality.

While the book retells what is in Genesis and part of Exodus, the story varies widely from the biblical books
This is a very good translation and the book has an extensive introduction by Charles.Scholars believe that Jubilees was composed in Hebrew sometime between 135 and 105 BCE. Just as the author of the biblical book Chronicles rewrote his book with many variations from what is contained in other biblical books, this Pharisee also wrote a book reflecting his own view of biblical history, one that met his own agenda. His approach to the biblical text is also very similar to Midrashic lore. He enlarges on various text, removes what he considered offensive elements, and writing as he did during a time when the Hellenistic spirit was rampant in Israel, he sought to defend Judaism from Hellenistic attacks and show that Jewish law has everlasting validity. He contended that before the law was revealed to humans it was kept in heaven by angels. While Israel was ruled during his lifetime by the Maccabean family, descendants of Levi, he contended that the Messianic kingdom would be ruled by a man from the tribe of Judah. He divides events into Jubilee periods of 49 years and states, for example, that the Israelites entered Canaan at the close of the fiftieth Jubilee. The Book of Jubilees states that it was composed by an angel who dictated it to Moses. While to book purports to describe the history of the world, which is also reported in the biblical books Genesis and Exodus, the story in Jubilees is radically different. No one knows why these differences exist.

Lesser Genesis
This is a good book; a translation. Historically, the Book of Jubilees was claimed to have been revealed to Moses but some claim that the book was simply a copy of the original Books of Genesis as found in the common Bible. Some label ancient books with similar stories as pseudepigrapha, material not suitable for inclusion in religious books. The Books of Jubilees, details the celebration of every Jubilee (49 years) since creation to Moses's adult life; about 2410 years. There is a lot of detail in The Book of Jubilees and I wonder how the ancient authors could have had such access to personal lives of those times. Its a good read for those interested in ancient history.

Explanations
Reading this book, explains some things left out of the canonized Biblical Books. There is also a running timetable. Towards the end, several things were clarified. The lamb was to be slaughtered, towards evening, on the 14th day, of the first month. Then the lamb's blood was used on the doorposts, and lintel, of the doorway, on the first third of the 15th. The new day began at sundown. Jesus, as the Lamb, was crucified on the 14th, then hurriedly taken down and placed in the garden tomb, before sundown, since the Passover day wouldn't have allowed any work to be performed. His blood became the blood on the doorposts, and lintel, as he was the door to eternal salvation. Just a side thought here, when the blood was placed on the lintel, it most likely dripped to the ground. Completing the head wrists and feet of Jesus. Most people accept that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday. I'm of the belief that he was crucified on the 14th, a Wednesday and placed in the tomb before sundown. Was in the tomb Thursday, Friday, and rose on Saturday, the third day, the Sabbath.Anyhow, this was an informative book, that gives an interesting account of the history of the Hebrews.

OK, but. . .
Before you buy this, sample Dr. Nyland's modern translation The Book of Jubilees (The Little Genesis, The Apocalypse of Moses) Old Testament / Apocrypha. You might like it better. I did. There are notes, a detailed introduction, and more text.BTW, this ebook has an interactive TOC, you just can't access it directly from the menu.

Adds another dimension
Well worth having. Although not totally accepted as part of the Canon is scripture, this can be quoted in research and provides some extremely interesting insights into scripture from a 7x7 point of view in particular.
