Hello. This October kiss hallmark movie is the best.. its my all time new fave for movies for fall. You HAVE to watch it. Little romance and a lot of fun

We love this movie...even my teenage kids will get sucked in, haha! The acting is a little silly but that's part of the allure...it is a Hallmark movie! It's such a feel-good, sweet and festive storyline. Perfect for a cozy night on the couch or for when you're decorating for fall. Two things though- She never claims she's 28 like some people say in their review. Just watch and pay attention and you'll see what I mean. Also it says there are "sexual situations", which I think is so funny. There are two very PG-rated kisses that take place. Reminds my of the kisses in Disney movies. Very appropriate for basically all ages unless you're uncomfortable with seeing two people closed-mouth kiss, holding still. It's very chill, to be honest. Just enjoy the movie, it's a tradition in our house every year!

One of our favorites! Acting is very good and the dialogue is spot on. Goes great with popcorn or some Halloween candy!

This 2015 offering by Hallmark hasn't lost its edge in 2021 thanks to the generic approach to Halloween and timeless activities surrounding it like carving pumpkins and decorating the yard with skeletons and crazy witches. The story involves the Lawson family who are still missing mother and wife whose death has left a hole in the family celebration of the year's spookiest day. Enter Poppy Summerall an cheerful spirit who hasn't quite found her calling in life but agrees to temporarily help the family out as a nanny after a series of jobs prove unsuitable for her. Poppy's effervescent and creative personality is the perfect match for Ryan Lawson's tentative and overworked soul. She proves to be the missing piece for his children too. Ashely Williams as Poppy and Sam Jaeger as Ryan work well together and make their characters believable and appealing. Hannah Cheramy and Kieffer O'Reilly are the talented youngsters who portray Ryan's children. They are particularly outstanding in the "Report Card" scene- but I won't spoil that for you! If you're looking for a fun Halloween romp that isn't filled with gore, overly frightening creatures and schlock horror scenes, Hallmark has produced the opposite filled with all the candy you could possibly want for the season which, of course, includes the "it's all about love and family" motto and a very happy ending.

There is nothing new at all in this Hallmark movie, yet it is still likable. This movie mixes a number of typical Hallmark rom-com cliches. It has the main character who lives with her sister because she can't seem to hold a job or find a successful relationship. It has the nanny who the kids hate at first but end up loving. It has the single dad who works too much and never has time for the kids. It has the workplace girlfriend who isn't quite right.For me, the odd twist is that the main character does not seem very likable at first but ends up being just right. Poppy starts out seeming like an annoying, immature woman can't get her act together. In the first few scenes, we see her quitting or losing jobs because she is no good at them. There isn't much indication that she has any formal education or experience. Finally she gets a job as a nanny for a widowed father of two who is an acquaintance of her sister. He is a successful app developer who works too many hours. Apparently he has been through a string of nannies who have quit but we don't see any of them and there never really ends up being much indication of why they might have quit because the kids don't seem all that bad. In any case, even though the two main characters shouldn't have any interest in each other, you can see the chemistry from the minute she walks in the door. They seem like a natural couple from their first meeting. I think this is what saves the movie. As it moves along through the usual scenes for this kind of movie, the chemistry continues and is mostly tastefully done. It isn't really kept a secret as almost everyone in the movie seems to suggest or hope that the two should get together. Of course it only happens at the end, but somehow it all works out.If you are looking for a nice movie with all of the Hallmark elements, this is a pretty good choice. You will not come away feeling that you have seen anything revolutionary or fresh, but you will feel pretty good about the movie.

It's gonna be a perfect movie for our movie night.

Me and my mom have been watching this movie every year for about 4 years now and as a gift to her—and myself—i decided to buy the dvd version. It came without scratches!

Loved this movie. Broken family due to mom's death brought back together with the love of a nanny. Great purchase.

OCTOBER KISS ist eine amerikanisch-kanadische TV-Produktion für den Hallmark Channel aus dem Jahr 2015. Wer mit den Produktionen des Hallmark Channels vertraut ist, weiß natürlich, dass diese Filme glatt gebürstete Hochglanzproduktionen sind, die eingebettet in eine zuckersüße Geschichte attraktive Hauptdarsteller aufbieten und sich zusätzlich durch wunderbare Bilder in Postkartenqualität auszeichnen. Im Zuge der Programmplanung für einen Sendeplatz kurz vor dem Halloween-Fest sollte dies ein Feel-good-Movie vor dem Hintergrund des traditionsreichen amerikanischen Festes werden. Dem Auftrag des finanzierenden Hallmark Channel folgend produzierten die beiden Gesellschaften Front Street Picture und Tempo Productions TEMPORARILY YOURS, wie der Film ursprünglich hieß. Für das Drehbuch verpflichtetet man die bis dahin unbekannte MacKenzie Austin, von der sich in der Filmdatenbank imdb.com mit WINTER LOVE STORY (2019) bis heute nur ein weiterer Eintrag finden lässt.Im Mittelpunkt der Geschichte steht Poppy Summerall (Ashley Williams), eine attraktive, jedoch bindungsscheue Frau, die zwar immer von einer Beziehung träumt, doch stets, wie ein Schmetterling davonfliegt, wenn man ihr zu nahekommt. Einzig zu ihrer Schwester Megan (Laura Mitchell), sowie ihren beiden Neffen hat Poppy eine enge und herzliche Bindung. So ist es schließlich auch Megan, die ihre Schwester an den verwitweten Ryan Larson (Sam Jaeger) als Nanny für dessen beide Kinder vermittelt. Mit viel Geschick und Charme weiß Poppy die beiden Kinder für sich zu gewinnen und bereitet mit diesen ein besonderes Halloween Fest vor. Auch Ryan empfindet die neue Nanny bald als Bereicherung und holt sich bei Poppy Tipps für ein Date mit seiner Arbeitskollegin Abigail (Miranda Frigon). Doch wie soll Poppy mit plötzlich erwachenden Gefühlen für ihren Boss damit umgehen?OCTOBER KISS ist eine stimmungsvolle, romantische Produktion, die man aber auch als kitschig und zuckersüß beschreiben könnte. Dass diese Komödie dennoch leicht und unbeschwert ist, liegt im Besonderen an den sympathischen Darstellern, wie Ashley Williams und Sam Jaeger. Williams arbeitet schwerpunktmäßig für das TV und war u.a. bereits in einer Reihe von Weihnachtsfilmen wie CHRISTMAS IN THE CITY (2013), IM NORDEN STRAHLT DER WEIHNACHTSMANN (2018), sowie in der CHRISTMAS IN EVERGREEN-Reihe zusehen. Sam Jaeger war bereits an der Seite von Bruce Willis (Das Tribunal, 2002 und Lucky Number Slevin, 2006) zu sehen, und feierte Erfolge mit der TV-Serie PARENTHOOD (2010 – 2015, 103 Episoden). Zu dem guten Cast zählen sicherlich auch Laura Mitchell und Miranda Frigon. Während Mitchell besonders durch ihre wiederkehrende Rolle als Herzogin Kate Middleton in der TV-Reihe über HARRY & MEGHAN bekannt ist, gehört Miranda Frigon zum Stamm cast der TV-Reihe MIT LIEBE ZUM MORD, in der Candace Cameron Bure als Aurora Teagarden die Hauptrolle spielt. Doch konnte man Frigon auch schon in TV-Filmen wie EINE FATALE AFFÄRE – FORBIDDEN DREAMS (2017) oder SCHLAFWANDELN UNTER NACHBARN (2017) sehen. Inszeniert wurde die Produktion von der kanadischen Regisseurin Lynne Stopkewich, die 2016 auch SUMMER LOVE mit Rachel Leigh Cook drehte.Auch wenn OCTOBER KISS durch seine Konzeption sehr vorhersehbar und überraschungsarm ist, zählt dieser doch zu einer Riege an interessanten Feel-good-Movies, die durch ihre unbeschwerte Leichtfüßigkeit schnell und gut anzusehen sind. Vergleichbar beliebter Fast-Food-Gerichte weiß dieses Werk zu gefallen, doch ist die Wirkung nur von kurzer Dauer.Die DVD-Veröffentlichung durch Studio Hamburg ist technisch nicht zu beanstanden. Die in HD gefilmte Produktion erstrahlt auf der DVD in den schönsten Farben und unterstreicht damit die Schönheit der Bilder. Das Bildformat ist 1,78:1 (16:9). Als Sprachoptionen gibt es Deutsch und Englisch jeweils im Tonformat Dolby Digital 2.0. Untertitel gibt es leider keine, was aber kein großes Thema ist, da die Tonqualität sehr gut ist. Abgesehen von einem Wendecover ohne das FSK-Logo auf der Rückseite hat diese Veröffentlichung jedoch keine Extras zu bieten. Dennoch, wer sich für leichte Romantik-Filme interessiert, der kann bedenkenlos zugreifen und sich auf 84 Minuten voller Gefühle freuen.

Really enjoyed this Ashley Williams outing about a young woman Poppy, who hilariously struggles to commit to anything - jobs or men - until she accepts a job as a "temporarily yours" Nanny to two young children of a widowed executive Ryan, who is working hard to launch his new social App (Sam Jaeger). The journey is filled with humour, the expected "break-up/make-up" scene, and a great performance from Laura Mitchell as Poppy's sister, Megan. It's Hallmark so anyone familiar with these movies know what to expect. This is personally one of my favourites.My copy is German/English. Easy to select English (original) version.
